Sean Payton signs five year extension
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...ract-extension
The New Orleans Saints have acted quickly to eliminate what was shaping up to be a major offseason question mark.
Fox Sports insider and NFL Network contributor Jay Glazer reported Friday that the Saints and Sean Payton have agreed in principle to a new five-year contract extension that will keep Payton in New Orleans.
The contract awaits league approval, a source familiar with the agreement told NFL.com's Albert Breer.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

as a Wisconsin Sports Writer wrote.
Endorse a bounty system, lie about the bounty system, tell your team to lie about the bounty system, put your teams season in jeapordy because of the lying and actions, and then come out with an 8 million a year salary. What a message for other coaches.
Polk County Florida Sheriff Grady Judd when asked why his Swat Team shot a suspected Cop Killer 68 times answered, "That's all the bullets we had."

He never did all that stuff, but assuming he did - the one year suspension was the "message." In addressing Sean Payton's alleged participation, Roger Goodell said, "If [Sean Payton] didn't know about it, he should have." What a way to justify a yearlong suspension.
Tom Benson is rich and Payton is smart. Can't believe people ever thought Payton wanted to leave. Can't believe they ever thought Benson would let him.

Another delusional Saints fan (an oxymoron, I know). Have you forgotten about this?
Quote:
NEW ORLEANS -- In a sharp rebuke to his successor's handling of the NFL's bounty investigation, former commissioner Paul Tagliabue overturned the suspensions of four current and former New Orleans Saints players in a case that has preoccupied the league for almost a year.
Tagliabue, appointed by commissioner Roger Goodell to handle the appeals, still found that three of the players engaged in conduct detrimental to the league. He said they participated in a performance pool that rewarded key plays -- including bone-jarring hits -- that could merit fines. But he stressed the team's coaches were very much involved.
The entire case, he said, "has been contaminated by the coaches and others in the Saints' organization."
The team's "coaches and managers led a deliberate, unprecedented and effective effort to obstruct the NFL's investigation," the ruling said.

Why didn't you bold this part?
" Tagliabue, appointed by commissioner Roger Goodell to handle the appeals..."
What was Tags supposed to say? "Roger got it ALL wrong?" No, instead Tagliabue found a brilliant way to lift the wrongful suspensions of the players AND allow the NFL to save face. Tagliabue works for the law firm that's representing the NFL in Vilma's defamation suit. He wasn't going to completely absolve the Saints organization while throwing his client under the bus.
If he did absolve the entire organization, how would he undo the suspensions already served by the coaches? Why NOT put it all on them? They're already serving time anyway. Sneaky and underhanded - yes. But quite brilliant.
Please feel free to continue believing whatever you've already decided is true. I'll do the same.

Deep down, he is happy the Saints sucked this season. Gave him leverage for a huge extension, as it makes it seem their success is based on him.
I for one do not think he is worth this kind of money.
