Yup I've put this many time. There was plenty of time left for a FG and Danny had them driving. The guy went to 3 NFC championship games.

There are still a few of us who remember those moments.

Sad he never got to the big one.

He was a gamer, and a good punter to boot.

Romo is not GREAT neither was White

They both were the best options if the their time

Romo to Favre???? That has to be the dumbest statement I've seen.....but oh wait Favre threw a pick as well with season on line....so maybe you have a point

White was good but never did anything GREAT to take that far superior cowboys team anywhere. If those teams were so damn good a superbowl woulda been nice(remember that crap vikings game he had????)...Romo is the same-Good but not GREAT with far less success
Tom Landry thought highly of Danny. Roger Staubach thought so too. Plenty of experts said Danny was a SB-caliber QB. I watched every game he played and from 1980 to 1986 when he was injured, Danny gave Dallas golden opportunities to win titles. I take their judgement over yours.

Far superior Cowboys team? By 1984, that team had begun to show its age. The 2007 Cowboys were pretty damn good and should have won a title. I will say that team was better than any one that Danny played on. The 1981 Cowboys are the only ones close to '07.

Why don't you ask Atlanta if Danny ever accomplished anything "great."

White had plenty of playoff success and was NOT THE REASON DALLAS DID NOT WIN A SB DURING THE EARLY 80s.

Romo to White is a FLAWED COMPARISON!

I have had years of experience defending White from non-sense. The Minnesota game was a Thanksgiving Day game in 1987, after Danny had gotten his wrist broke in 2006 that effectively ended his career. But if you want to compare that to what happened Sunday night, be my guess.

Brett threw multiple picks in multiple games that cost the Packers dearly, just like Romo Sunday night. Brett was a gunslinger-type QB, just like Tony. Take away that one SB ring and you have Romo with better stats. Romo may still win a SB with Dallas and make the comparison even more valid. I pray he does. Brett was a damn good QB and I intended him no dis-respect.

It amazes me sometimes how little some of the Cowboys fan base really knows about the team or the game of football. Sad...

Thank you for informing the rest of us. We never would have known without your expert input

It's that you forget that a White lead Cowboy team didn't win a SB OR NFC CHAMPIONSHIP

I watched those games as well.....have that same feeling towards Romo as I did White

Still, your comparison is flawed. I would have never known White's Cowboys did not reach the SB without your expert commentary

OMG, the FAIL is strong in this one

I said this in another thread; Romo is currently Dan Fouts. Great numbers, had some good efforts in big games but also had some real stinkers. Like Romo, he never had a dominant run game.

If Jerry and Co. will upgrade the O-Line properly this off-season, Murray will be a beast. That, in my opinion, would be the very best thing for Romo. Of course, Garrett has to be more committed to running the ball, which is a another issue...

We can agree to disagree then.....

But at least remember this....

Most remember the catch.....I remember the fumble
