It is so simple really, yet so many people use the Jimmy/Miami thing to support their agendas about Jerry.
Jimmy and staff had an advantage and with the Walker Trade they could do as they liked.
By the time Jimbo got to Miami all the recruits he had either recruited or scouted were in the NFL, so his competitive advantage was lost.
And this more than anything else indicates Jerry had no clue about talent then, and knows hardly anymore now.

What a garbage post.
Jimmy (and staff) absolutely had an advantage in knowing collegiate talent coming out (since they had been recruiting them out of high school) when he took this job. He had Mike Irvin here ironically. He also had pick 1 overall which is pretty nice to have. Then he backed that up with another top overall drafting team ranking. Then when Jerry wouldn't pay Herschel Jimmy traded him for a mother lode.
That has absolutely zero to do with anything except that his model of relying upon asst coaches to evaluate talent was terrible after a couple seasons. That is a system Jerry actually kept in place until BP got here.
This post was completely non-sequitar. If you want a zillionth jimmy/jerry thread go start one.
Sabin is a great collegiate coach. He is likely ALREADY one of Jerry's bevy of paid advisors.
This is a non-story IMHO. Sabin isn't coming here in any real official role. And he has likely been advising Jerry for a couple seasons and is one of the reasons Jerry latched onto Redball when he did.
