9-12 months recovery time for an ACL tear, from what I read. Obviously, AP did it much faster, but he's probably the exception rather than the rule.
What also needs to be considered, and I don't know the answer to this, is that RG3 already tore that ACL in college, and whether that helps or hinders his recovery. I'm no doctor, so I don't really know.
