Default Nick Saban

He's just won his 3rd National Championship in 4 years, and has won 4 in 8 years of coaching. That's nothing short of incredible.

I know Jason Garrett's job is likely safe and that this probably won't happen, but it doesn't hurt to entertain the idea.

His name is coming up a lot now for potential NFL coaching positions. Not sure if he's even going to leave Bama, cause he has a really good thing going there for him, but if he does indeed decide to make the leap again, would you like him as the Cowboys next Head Coach? Do you think Jerry would even consider it?

I know his first stint in the NFL wasn't successful with Miami, but if he showed interest in the NFL, I think Jerry might at least entertain the idea.

John McKay won three in college and Lou Holtz was no slouch and they were as absolute bad as it gets in the NFL.

I actually thought Saban would translate really well in the NFL, he reminded me a lot of Jimmy in intensity, but it didn't happen. Maybe he's Pete Carroll who was horrible his first time around. Who knows...

I think the bottom line though is Saban would never play nice with Jerry.

I'll never forgive this guy for gifting Jason Garrett his first NFL job. Rot in hell Dirty Nick.

That's my main concern. I think the idea of turning around America's team might lure him a bit, but ultimately having to be bossed around by Jerry would quickly ruin that idea. Wouldn't mind him here though. Like you said with Carroll, I think he'd be better around the 2nd time. At this point I just want someone other than JG.

I like him coming in as the GM or whatever title it would take for Jerry to let him do that job

Seems like he'd be a great fit and could be a great asset to Garrett

Jerry would never let it happen, but I can dream a little

He's a guy who needs complete personel control of a franchise, that's the only way a guy like him can succeed in the NFL IMO, like Jimmy had with us. I don't know what situation Saban had with Miami but I don't think he had complete control, I may be wrong.
Go ahead make my season!

Dallas Cowboys record from 1996 to now. (including playoffs)

Wins
136

Losses
135

Brent Musberger made one good point during the game tonight when he took 5 seconds to stop making excuses for Notre Dame.

Why would Saban go to the NFL and get one first round pick per year when he can stay at Bama and get 5+ first round picks per year?
What used to be is gone and what ought to be ought not to be so hard.

He loves to use the word process.

You can tell those two are friendly.
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee

My younger sister could have won a title with this Bama team. It is all about recruiting at the college level. That far outweighs coaching IMO.
A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.

The NFL has a salary cap, Alabama doesn't.

You can work around the QB position in college by just being more talented at every other position and pushing lesser teams around. In the NFL, there is no work around for having Gus Ferrotte and Joey Harrington as your QBs.

Despite labeling myself a "realist", no one understands my pain or appreciates my special truth. Stupid world.
