Conjecture.
The Dallas "Football" Cowboys a team where everyone is accountable*.

I think it is Lovie Smith. Horton is not on the DC market and lateral moves can be denied.

Which coaches respect Garrett?

Doesn't Lovie Smith have a reputation of being a "players coach"? I'd guess that since the Cowboys are moving away from one players coach in Rob Ryan that they would seek out someone who has a reputation of being more of a disciplinarian, someone that will hold the defense accountable and not make excuses for them.

I'm just curious. Where did you hear this "well respected"?

CouchScout has said this many times

Hostile as confirmed this and some other poster that I have not seen in a while that has ties to the NFL

I'd be pretty shocked if Lovie got a head coaching gig somewhere right out of the gate. Fair or not, he would be seen as a tough sale. Lovie would be seen as a retread HC by any fanbase, and a boring vanilla retread at that. Lovie has had some of the worst offenses every year in the league in Chicago, and his teams failed to make the playoffs 5 out of his 6 years as a HC. The NFL is an offensive league, and teams want offensive minded head coaches to draw fans to the stadium. I thought his best opportunity was Buffalo, because they were reportedly looking at a possible defensive minded guy to turn around their defensive unit they invested a ton of resources into. Eventually they even went offense. All the other destinations are looking for an offensive guy.

Despite labeling myself a "realist", no one understands my pain or appreciates my special truth. Stupid world.
