Tim McMahon Cowboys in VHS

I have just completed a wonderful experience in the past few nights.....watching 3 VCR tapes of the Dallas Cowboys highlights from 1965 to 1980! My first wife gave them to me for a Xmas present way back in the early 80s. I had actually forgot I had them until I ran across them last week. I'm telling you, guys, I had forgot just how good we were back in the good old days! Brought back some exciting memories! Great highlights from almost every game! I can see your tongues hanging out right now!

She bought them in a set of three, each running about 2 hours of great football. They were made by NFL Films and not sure where she purchased them although I think it was through the Dallas Cowboy Newsletter. The first one is called "The Star Ascending: The Dallas Cowboys 1965-69" #W88; the second one is "Coming of Age: The Story of the Dallas Cowboys 1970-74" #W40; and the last one is "America's Team: The Dallas Cowboys 1975-79" #W42. And last but not least they were narrated by the great Frank Glieber and John Facenda (he of the "frozen tundra" fame. I'm sure a lot of you don't remember either of the two but Frank was the Cowboys TV play by play guy and John was the voice of "NFL Films"! Both are now dead!

I've have been trying to see if they are on DVD now but my time has been limited so I don't have any good news relating to the tapes or DVD's. :p

These tapes are a must for any Cowboy fan!!!

I had 70-74 for a long time and called NFL Films a couple of times over a long period and they were always out of the 75-79 version. When the internet came around I was able to find it. Popped it in, what a thrill - then I saw something that freaked me out - I WAS IN IT!! In 1978 they played the Jets in NY in the final game. Jet fans always stormed the field in Shea and pulled the goalposts down every year. In both years that the Boys played the Steelers they ended that season at Shea. I went to both and went on the field both times and went over the the Boys like a lot of people did. On the NFL Films tape is a bunch of fans mobbing Charlie Waters and I was shocked to see myself among them.
