Default Jamie Collins - Southern Miss

This guy deserves his own thread. Someone brought up Chase Thomas in the Senior Bowl thread and Jamie Collins has almost identical measurements, which lead me to find some more information on him.

Quote:
What about Jamie Collins? Almost identical height/weight. Could be had 2-3 rounds later.

"In ’11, he moved to the “Bandit” position, started 14 games and finished the year with 98tt/19.5tfl/8pbu/int and 6.5 sacks and again was named to the All-CUSA team. He is a criminal justice major who is scheduled to graduate in the spring of 2013."

"He aligns as a DE in their standard 4-2-5 Even look, moves around in 2- and 3-point stances in their Nickel 3-3-5 package and stands up as a “box” linebacker in their Dime Odd 3-2-6 arrangement. He is capable of rushing or dropping and can play either on the left or right sides."

Scouts Inc. kills his grade with huge concerns on his ability to take on blockers and play the run. They also say he takes plays off.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

I have a bit of a problem spending a 2nd or 3rd on a player that might not fit the Tampa 2. Used more a DE or blitzing LB and not much vs the run or in coverage is total different than what kifffin uses his SOLB. I need to see much more of him than just measurements of playing time vs lower competition.
I have seen Chase Thomas, Arthur Brown, Gerald Hodges, and Khaseem Greene play and they would fit into the Tampa 2 great.
