Here is what I heard on "The Ticket" about an hour ago:
  • The officer did not think Rat was drunk at first
  • Rats eyes were glassy and his breath smelled like alcohol, plus he seemed a bit lost--so the officer asked him to take a breath test.
  • Rat refused and then took the standard on the spot tests, and failed them all.
  • Rat used recnt injuries as part of the reason
  • Asked where he had been, Rat said he had been "hangin' with his homegirl in Arlington" and was going hoe to Southlake--which was a bit out of the way compared to where he got pulled.
  • Rat said that he "was just following his GPS"
  • Back at the station, he started out okay and then got a bit beligerant--according to some at the police station
I guess we'll see how the tests go. I don't like his odds.
Also, I know it's not an issue compared to DUI, but isn't he married? I'm not sure. Who's this "homegirl"

If he is married, I'm sure his wife is asking that very question.

Poor Rat. And what a shame she gets 50%

whatever it is needs to be addressed. the league can't be doing all the diciplinary actions. some of them have to come from the team's management. too many party animals on this team, that's for sure. we need more workaholics and less alcoholics.

Maybe he got drunk because he found out that Jerry will not be firing Jason afterall. Sorry but I can't blame Rat if this is the case.

If he's taking scrips with alcohol, then he's an even bigger idiot.

No doubt, people don't realize it only takes a little bit of the pain killer/booze combo to shut you down.

It's a pretty serious problem on a national scale.

I read an article a while back that was suggesting that the amount of alcohol needed small to start with. Add in the fact that everyone's body metabolizes the two products differently and there were repots of people who have mixed as little as a couple of drinks and died.
