When you are not even say 80% what is the point?
I become very frustrated with Austin also at times. He has came in and made some big plays though, but has had some big drops also this season. I don't see anyone available that would produce the way he does though and what the cost would be. If we could pull a trade and pick up a reliable receiver and dump Austin I would. As much as i've liked Austin,he is a big injury risk.

Perhaps I missed some of those plays he "gave up" on but I think he's still a gamer. Sad that I do have to agree that the Pats would not put up with it as opposed to our Boys who tend to overlook the (poor on field) work ethic we see from several of our present starters. I feel that all has to do with authority and leadershipor lack thereof from coaches. I wonder what they (players/coaches) say to each other when they see it in film study? "my tummy hurt on that play coach".

And this is why Jerry needs to get rid of a couple vets and send a message. Free and Ratlif are 2 of them. I like Ratlif but the latest act after a player was already killed due to drinking and driving, there should be zero tolerance. And I also think since Jerry wont hire a GM he needs to crack the whip hard on Garrett and make him hold players accountable and get in there faces and even bench them for a series or so when they continue to make bone headed mistakes. Wearing the Star should be an honor and it doesn't seem everybody takes it seriously. It's time to remind everybody how great the Dallas Cowboys really are.

I think that was where Jimmy J was so effective and therefore successful. Presently I think the players like JG and will play for him but are not threatened by job security or public humilitation so their efforts/respect only goes so far. I recall where JJohnson held Irvin out of the first set of downs for missing a flight to Detroit and when JJohnson fired back up RB right before the playoffs for a fumble after we had the game in hand. You think that didn't send a message? No one was safe, not even Aikman (when he was injured) when we were bringing in back up QB's constantly churning for improvement no matter their pro bowl status or contract status.
Wish JG would/could crack the whip however when he's publicly underminded by JJ, the players know who they ultimately need to please so JG's words/actions go so far as the circus keeps rolling.
