And I also think since Jerry wont hire a GM he needs to crack the whip hard on Garrett and make him hold players accountable and get in there faces and even bench them for a series or so when they continue to make bone headed mistakes. Wearing the Star should be an honor and it doesn't seem everybody takes it seriously. It's time to remind everybody how great the Dallas Cowboys really are.

I think that was where Jimmy J was so effective and therefore successful. Presently I think the players like JG and will play for him but are not threatened by job security or public humilitation so their efforts/respect only goes so far. I recall where JJohnson held Irvin out of the first set of downs for missing a flight to Detroit and when JJohnson fired back up RB right before the playoffs for a fumble after we had the game in hand. You think that didn't send a message? No one was safe, not even Aikman (when he was injured) when we were bringing in back up QB's constantly churning for improvement no matter their pro bowl status or contract status.
Wish JG would/could crack the whip however when he's publicly underminded by JJ, the players know who they ultimately need to please so JG's words/actions go so far as the circus keeps rolling.
