Twitter Emmitt Smith Interview Tweets - 1/31/13

Jon Machota ‏@jonmachota
Emmitt Smith on The Fan: Current Cowboys don't have an identity. "The Cowboys don’t know who they are."

Emmitt: "W/out a run game it makes it very, very tough for Tony Romo. I dont think Romo should throw the ball more than 30-35 times a game."

Emmitt Smith on DeMarco Murray: "He is that guy if he can stay healthy. If he's not, we got to find somebody that can."
Thank you to all donated to the Jason Witten Camp drive!

Wow. Balance! That's what I think that this team needs as well as Tony!

Anybody else love that he still says "we"? As for the comments I agree. A healthy season from Murray will go a long way in helping the offense.

That's what I love about those Cowboys and pretty much any from that era and before. Well except for Deion. They all refer to the Cowboys as we.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

It sounds cool, but with Emmitt you can never be sure if it's intentional or if he's just having pronoun troubles.

The only part I don't agree with is the identity part. I think the team started to develop an identity for the first time in a long time during the second half of this past season. The identity was that of a no-quit team that believed they could overcome any deficit and win the game.

"I know that they're working hard, but I can't put my finger on why they cannot turn the corner," Smith said. "Injuries are something that can plague any team. For us, we've had our share of it. It's frustrating to see that they have so much talent on that football field, yet they cannot come together and execute at the level that they need to execute at for a long period of time. And what I mean by a long period of time, I mean the entire football season.

I don't think this team has the identity that it wants at this point. I absolutely believe that Garrett wants more balance through an effective running game.

Murray does have to stay healthy but does anyone else question his vision. It isn't as bad as Jones or Barber but sometimes I wondered what he was seeing.

Yeah I can agree with that. He also seems to give up on the play too soon instead of hitting the hole. And I hate that he seems to look for contact. JMO.

Demarco Murray and a better offensive line= playoff chances increase dramatically!
