Witten made no excuses, and he's a tremendous father and husband despite the horrible example of his father. He is humble, appreciative, and human despite his fame and fortune.
This country desperately needs real fathers and families who stay together, and it needs to find its conscience again. We're surrounded by lazy, me-first complainers who contribute nothing to society.
We need to champion people like Witten, Barry Sanders, Jerry Rice, RG3, Darren Woodson, and others. They need to be held up again, not the players we do too often, who don't appreciate what they have and perpetuate the irresponsibility as citizens, fathers, and role models.
