Saints wideout raising money to help injured Tulane player Devon Walker

Saints wide receiver Joe Morgan doesn’t have a household name.

He’s not letting that stop him from trying to do what he can to help an injured member of the football fraternity. Tulane player Devon Walker fractured his spine during a game against Tulsa on Sept. 8 and he remains in an Oklahoma hospital while he recovers from the injury. Dealing with such injuries requires a lot of money and Morgan is doing what he can to make sure Walker has enough of it.

Morgan is donating tickets to this week’s game against the Chiefs, a football autographed by members of the Saints and a dinner for two to a raffle that’s being conducted on the Tulane campus. Nakia Hogan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune has more details on how to buy a raffle ticket and there are other ways to help out the Devon Walker Fund that the school has helped set up to benefit Walker and his family.

Hospital Graduation Fulfills Mom's Dying Wish

Like a typical graduation ceremony, the graduation march played, the graduate wore a cap and gown and all of the school officials were present. But this ceremony took place in an Ohio hospital room in January as a dying wish for the sole graduate's mother. She died the next day.

Family friends made some phone calls on Saturday and within a matter of hours all of the necessary school officials had assembled at Linnabary's bedside along with some family and friends for an official Colerain High School graduation.

"It was important because we realized that this was important to the mother and to the family and so to make this whole situation they had to deal with as easy for them as possible, it was just something that we had to do," Northwest Local School District Superintendent Rick Glatfelter told ABCNews.com.

This is a touching story. Kudos to everyone, but especially to school and county staff who made this possible and make it as "official" and "traditional" as it can get under the circumstances.

A Man Who Gave Away His Home To a Family in Need

A 51-year-old man is moving back in with his parents so a homeless family can live in his house instead.

Tony Tolbert’s offer is good for one full year. According to CBS, the spare bedroom in his childhood home in Los Angeles frequently went to people in need, which inspired his own version of the act.

"You don't have to be Bill Gates or Warren Buffet or Oprah," Tolbert, a Harvard-educated attorney, told CBS in the video above. "We can do it wherever we are, with whatever we have, and for me, I have a home that I can make available."

Homeless man returns ring accidentally given to him

A woman trying to help out a homeless man on The Plaza ended up giving away a lot more than a little change. She accidentally gave him her engagement ring, but the twist to the story is what the man did with it.

People hearing this story might think the homeless man's luck would similar to winning the lottery - you live under a bridge, then, the next thing you know, you end up with platinum and diamonds. For some, it could be a life changer.

Stranger’s Generosity Changes Teen’s Life and Employment Status

Jhaqueil Reagan of Indianapolis, Indiana, was walking down the street on his way to interview for a minimum wage job. He happened to cross paths with Art Bouvier, who was laying rock salt on the ground outside his restaurant, Papa Roux, after an ice storm had hit the area earlier in the morning.

Bouvier said the 18-year-old approached him and asked how far it was to 10th and Sherman. Bouvier said the distance was at least six or seven miles, so he told Reagan that he would be better off taking a bus instead of walking, especially considering the freezing temperature. Reagan said "thank you" and kept on his way to the job interview.

[View Full Quote]Later, Bouvier and his wife were driving to grab coffee, and they came across Reagan again--still walking, so they offered him a ride. Reagan shared with the couple that he was on his way to a Dairy Queen to interview for a job, and he did not have money for bus fare. Reagan also shared that his mother had passed away and he was left to care for his two younger siblings. After his mom died a couple of years ago, he ended up dropping out of high school and obtaining his GED.

After hearing the teen's story, Bouvier told Reagan that even if he was offered the Dairy Queen job, he would hire him and double his salary. Bouvier was impressed with the teen's ambition and work ethic.
