In Vacarro's 4 years, I didn't see this guy whiff on very many tackles. This year in particular he had a bad one against OK. State & I am sure a couple of other games, but 90% of the time if this guy hits you, he usually knocks the opponent straight to the ground with a physical tackle, using great technique. + he has been solid in coverage, I would definitely love to have this guy at safety if the Cowboys feel the quality of players at o-line-d-line doesn't drop off much in the 2nd-3rd rounds.

And Reid isnt horrible in coverage either. His possess more than enough size and athleticism to be good in coverage, especially in a zone scheme. Does he need to be coached up a bit on reading plays and taking better angels? Yes definitely, but there isn't a safety in this draft class that is a complete package and ready to go from day 1.

I'm not saying Church is a lock to be our starter for the future. I just thought the general consensus was the Boys are happy with him(we just signed him to an extension) and we would be looking for a safety with a lot of range to cover in the 4-3 tampa 2 looks. Reid is very athletic and made a lot of plays in college, but one thing he didn't excel in was making plays on the ball. Baccari Rambo on the other hand, excelled in creating turnovers. I wouldn't hate to have Reid, but I watch a ton of SEC football, and he isn't my first choice of safety in the conference. (Although I like all 4 guys this year I'd personally rank them: Rambo,Swearinger,Reid,Elam. But that's just my opinion)

If the top 5 OL are all gone at #18, then that wouldn't be true; although this seems unlikely.
I agree. This is one of the few drafts where OL would be a legit BPA over other positions. I have always argued other positions in the past but this draft the best guy available may be an OG.

Church was pretty damn slow before he tore his achilles, who knows what we are getting this year.
I do agree with this point Church was on the edge of too slow last year and with the achilles injury I think he hits the tipping point for speed considering most recovery scenarios. Vacarro could be the BPA is some plot where no QB are taken before us and we can accommodate no trade partners.

I don't think there is one safety in this class worthy of #18.

On the other hand, there are probably eight to ten lineman you could take in that spot and both lines could use the help. Take the best one.

I think Vaccaro would be ready to go day one. When you look at him as a whole he doesnt have very many holes in his game. The biggest thing is he goes for the big hit rather than wrap up sometimes. He doesnt do it all the time but more than I like. This can be remedied with coaching.

Agree that Church's biggest issue before was borderline speed; however, he lost weight from about 222 to about 212 last year and was noticeably faster in Training Camp.

I think the Achilles injury depends on if it was a complete tear or a partial tear. There's a good chance that he does not have any lingering issues from a partial tear; however, recovery from a complete tear is really unpredictable.

Worst case, they just move him to OLB. He wouldn't have to get that much bigger than his original 6-2, 222 to be the size of a LB in a Kiffin defense. The SLB for Tampa in 2008 (Kiffin's final year) was Cato June who was only 6-0, 227.

Barry Church is a guy who is just always around the ball. He's a play maker. You cant always time that on a stop watch. Up until his injury this season, he was alll over the field making plays. Even Darren Woodson was raving about the guy and his ability to be in the right position on the field and making plays. If he can come back the same, we already have one playmaking Safety on our team.

I think Sensabaugh can be upgraded. And I like everything I've ever read or heard about Matt Johnson. Just want to see if his play matches the hype.

THIS DRAFT NEEDS TO GO TO OLINE AND DLINE!!! PERIOD..

Sign Terrance Knighton and draft Chance Warmack OR sign Andy Levitre and draft Star Lotulelei.

Jeremiah: S Swearinger generating buzz in NFL
The NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah tweeted that South Carolina S D.J. Swearinger is generating "a lot of buzz in scouting circles."
Swearinger has been a section favorite for some time due to his jarring hits and versatility to play either safety spot or even cornerback. The South Carolina product is a top three player at his position, and Swearinger will likely be selected in the top-64 picks.
