Mangini "Who clocked him at that and who's going to go on record and say they have the 4.19".

Awesome. Just calling it BS from the word go.

I was wondering the same thing.

Why don't those Sports Science guys get to work on it.

They can tell you how much force is delivered from an OL's fart, surely they can run a stop clock.

Does anyone know if there's actually more to timing these things?

Is there a reason why they can't just use video?

Couldn't they have a pressure pad under the fingertips and when the fingertips leave the clock starts? Laser stop at the other end?

Seems like there shouldn't be so much debate.

And just like that, all my hopes, dreams, and NFL aspirations are ruined....

Thanks a lot!

There's an easy solution to the combine vs. pro day debate. Keep the facilities at Indy open post combine for about a month. Everyone will be timed electronically under the same conditions. No more debate over fast vs. slow track. No more wind aided 40s.

Pro days can be broken up regionally. If it's a question of rent, it can be split between the nfl, the schools, and the teams attending the workout. Problem solved.

Wouldn't it be easier to just hire unbiased parties to attend and time for themselves?

That would be a terrific start, but it still wouldn't account for weather (if outdoors) and track conditions. Your way would be a great start though.
