I'd rather they go after Thomas Howard as depth.

QB Tony Romo has played 4 "Win or Go Home" games since 2008 (includes 2 playoff gms) -- in 3 of them, his QBR was less than 20"

Thank heavens we don't have the cash.
By the end of 2014 Romo will not be starting for the cowboys and the most popular phrase on the board will be..."see I knew we shouldn't have signed him to that big contract".

They would just trade him.

I would say two. Bradie James and Connor may have been "arrival challenged" but they weren't washed up former stars.

Brooking and Thomas are Hall of Famers. James and Connor aren't in their class though.

They may not be HOFers, but Thomas and Brooking were two of the best in their day and were in a totally different class from Bradie and Connor.

Great point.
In fact, it's the most interesting point that's been made during this entire free agency period thus far. That should tell you something about this free agency period.

Agreed. I think however Urlacher is on the decline (just like Brooking was when he got here) but for right price it might work given the leadership/knowledge transfer for current LB core.

Only on CZ would the majority opinion on bringing in one of the best Cover 2 linebackers to ever play the game as a backup be an overwhelming negative response.
Bring him in and let him turn Sean Lee into a hall of famer in the scheme. Fine with me.
