"Pete has a great size and strength, and speed--all those things," defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer said. "He's really a great athlete. Right now, he just needs to play more. He needs to learn how to play the position and how to play the angles and everything that is involved. But it's not just about Pete. There are other guys out there competing with him." Again, all the "news" I have read the last 2 weeks could have been dated at least 3 months ago.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray, Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8. |
