Default Daryl Johnston to be Keynote Speaker

Daryl Johnston Is Keynote Speaker for C-FB ISD Educational Foundation's Annual 'A Morning for Children' Breakfast

Wednesday September 21, 11:00 am ET

DALLAS, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Former Dallas Cowboys star player Daryl "The Moose" Johnston will be the keynote speaker at the "A Morning for Children" fundraising breakfast, sponsored by the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District Educational Foundation. The breakfast is Nov. 2 at 7:15 a.m. at the Westin Galleria, 13340 Dallas Parkway, Dallas.

The annual "A Morning for Children" breakfast is the kickoff event for the Educational Foundation's annual campaign. The Foundation raises funds for grants, scholarships and other programs that benefit C-FB ISD students and teachers.

Breakfast sponsorships are available from $7,500 to $2,000. Companies who have signed up as sponsors so far are SHW Group, Inc., Las Colinas Valley Ranch Association, Town North Bank and Southwest Airlines. Tables of 10 are $750.

"We are looking forward to having Daryl Johnston as our speaker," said Linda Rutherford, 2005 Breakfast Chair. "He is known for his support of community issues, and public education plays a vital role in our community. The Educational Foundation steps in and provides funding for our teachers and classrooms when the district doesn't have the funds."

Since the Foundation's inception in 1997, the organization has awarded more than $1 million in teacher grants, student scholarships and grants, campus grants and special instructional grants.

"Our financial support for C-FB schools and its educators and students is only limited by amount of money the Foundation raises through the annual 'A Morning for Children' breakfast," Ms. Rutherford said. "We hope that the business community, parents and other supporters of public education will come out to hear Daryl and participate in our auctions."

Along with Johnston, the morning will include a live and silent auction. Auction items are being added daily and include such items as dinner with the Mayor of Irving, Southwest Airlines tickets and a resort package for Angel Fire, New Mexico, autographed items from Daryl Johnston, hotel packages, a stocked CocaCola machine, and tickets to the Thanksgiving Day Dallas Cowboys game. Master of ceremonies will be Riney Jordan, a national speaker, humorist and author.

To become sponsors or to purchase tables, individuals may call the Foundation office at 972-466-6156. Sponsorships and tables may be purchased on the foundation's website, http://www.educational-foundation.org . Foundation
