Yep.

The fact that he weighed 255 made him 1/2 LB.

Go figure.

Of course ignoring the fact that LBs in that era were 220-230 helps.

You know I can't figure out Nor's fascination with linebackers.

You look at the illustrious history of the Dallas Cowboys and the linebackers... by far are the least important part of the defense. And it's been that way for decades. Yet Nors wants to continually trumpet "LB qualities". The fact is they've never been a big part of our defense. Never. It has always been DL and secondary... with the linebacking corps coming up third.

I agree. We have had many good, smart, and solid LBs, but we have really never had a true gamebreaker...Howley and Henderson, had he pulled his head out, were close.

Two of the best in the 70's Lambert and Ham were 220 and 225 respectively.

Absolutely.

To suggest Manster was 1/2 LB is improper.

IMO/FWIW.

We had very good LB's in the 70's run and the 90's run.
In PARCELLS/BELLICHECK d's LB's are prominant. Thats my fascination.

There is a huge difference between being fast and quick at DT and doing it in space as a LB. White was TERRIBLE at LB, and Landry moved him back to DT.

Lett was quick and fast too, I suppose you'd make him a LB.

Don't even bother BZ. It's a waste of your time.

If Randy White had not at least had some of the attributes of a LB, I don't think Landry would have tried him at the position. And I'm pretty sure the steroids helped him keep his weight up.

Good Lord above this entire thread show be deleted.

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.
