Default Penn State's Paul Posluszny Does Not need surgery

If he comes out he will prob fall to the second round with the knee injury and not being able to partake in the Combine. He may be able to get a pro day in late It will be interesting to see what he chooses to do. If I where him I'd go to the NFL....

Penn State's Posluszny won't need surgery for knee injuryAssociated PressSTATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Penn State linebacker Paul Posluszny suffered partial tears of two ligaments in his right knee after a hit at the Orange Bowl, but won't need surgery.
Posluszny was carted off the field after being flipped over by blockers during a drive late in the fourth quarter. The drive ended with Florida State hitting a field goal to tie the game at 16-16, but the Nittany Lions won the seesaw contest, 26-23, in triple overtime.
The winner of awards honoring the nation's top defensive player and linebacker, Posluszny suffered partial tears of his posterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament, school officials said Friday. He will be sidelined six-to-eight weeks.
Posluszny, a junior, had said he was considering foregoing his senior year to enter the NFL draft. It's unclear how the injury will affect his decision.
If he comes back to Happy Valley, he will likely be able to participate in spring practice, which starts in late March. That could help ease coach Joe Paterno's tough task of replacing seven senior starters on defense.

If he falls to round 2 we should jump all over drafting him. No less than Jack Ham said this is the best LB Penn State has ever produced.

he is a JR at Penn St. I really really doubt he would come out. if he stays another year he will be a top 15 pick imo, maybe higher. and yes that was a good article in SI.

Look at it this way he's already injured his knee and if he goes back to PS and injures it again early in the season he won't be a first day pick if he comes out this year he's at latest 3 round pick because his injury and prob wind up late first early second. So if it where me I'd come out this year...

And you know this how? Do you have a link saying that or is it just your opinion?

"I'm obviously glad the injury wasn't serious and won't require surgery," stated Posluszny. "We have a great training and medical staff and they have a plan outlined for my rehab. I'm anxious to get started and get ready for the upcoming year. "

Doesn't sound like someone contemplating leaving early if you ask me.

And if you know anything about Paul and the type of kid he is you would realize there was never a chance he was leaving early.

Pozlusny was only going to come out if the Advisory Board put him in the top 10-15. The chances of that happening went down so he'll probably be back at PSU next year.

What a shame. Such a good player.

I hope he comes back next year even better.
