Roger and Emmitt right behind Randy, but Randy is the man, hands down. I was INFURIATED a couple years ago during a Cowboys game on Monday night when they showed JJ's luxury box with Bob Lilly and Randy White sitting next to him, and they didn't even mention Randy, not because they didn't like him, but because they didn't know who he was!! Fouts should have known, Randy planted him on his @ss many times!
Excellent post.

I agree with everything.

Remember the season Randy White held out? He was off fishing one season at the start of the season, I cannot remember if it was about money or why. Anyway, the defense was not the same. No where near the same. I didn't take long for Landry to get that situation straight and get White in.

My memory is not good. I don't remember all the details, but he was missed, bad.

Emmitt Smith.

It should be said in unison. What else does he have to do? He is the league's ALL TIME RUSHING LEADER. Did it all in a Cowboy's uniform. The franchise's best player, hands down.

You right, Emmitt should get more credit than he does.

There is still the attitude that Emmitt ran behind the best line in the NFL for five years and many believe that he is actually not as good as Payton, Brown, and Sanders and probably a few others.

I think it's unfair that Emmitt is viewed that way, but their are many who feel that way.

Don't get much better than that.
But I don't think he was even number two in talent as far as running backs go for the Boys.

Walker and Dorsett both had more natural talent. I think Smith played for the right teams at the right times and of course is still one of the greatest running backs of all time.

I would pick Walker as the most naturally gifted of the three but he didn't get used right or something. Maybe some off his talent was gone when he got here.

Dorsett was more of a game breaker than the other two IMO. I'm hard pressed to pick Dorsett or Smith as the greatest.

Smith had the heart though. Maybe the Giants game with the separated shoulder puts him over the hump and number one for me.

There are a ton of others to consider and you almost really have to do it by decade or "teams".

Lilly. Staubach. Hayes. R White. Too Tall. See the offense almost always gets the awards over the defense. Not always.

Interesting to see what others think though.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

Dickerson, like Sayers, OJ and a few others just didnt have the durability to be a long time champ like the 3 best. Brown, Payton, Emmitt. I know Brown retired early but he wasnt at all washed up or banged up. He was still the best player at his position in the game.
But I still don't know what any team saw Thursday night that would have made them comfortable with waiting a round or two for the offensive lineman they wanted. ---Todd McShay
We just converted half our LB to DL. We have a 30m starting DL, it better be pretty friggin good.

Probably doesnt help him that he was doodoo surrounded by trash.

ES didnt have a great rep as a people person.

Staubach is just after on the quality being on the planet scale.
