I'm not taking the bait, Vince may slide to Oakland. Ex Leinart Coach and new Tennesee offensive Coordinator Norm Chow will get his way. He knows Lienarts a smart QB who can run his Offense because he already knows the plays and has been proven successful in it.

The Draft is starting to set up for the Titans to make their Dream pick, Matt Lienart, everything else is just a smoke screen.

He said the concerns were with Lienart his poor arm strength and that he couldn't make all the throws. Said that WRs in college are open by 8 yards and in the NFL they are open by 8 inches. He said that was a bad sign.

With Young he talked about his one read and run theory at Texas. He may be able to tell you what he would do by looking at a black board but he doesn't know if he can go throught the progessions at the NFL level.

He said the only QB he would take was Cutler in the first round and then it would be in the second half of the first round. He likes Cutler's arm and his delivery. Didn't have much of a knock on Cutler.

Hodge also thinks the Bills should draft Manny Lawson with the 8th pick because and I quote, "Then they could play the 3-4 defense." I'm sorry Meril but the Bills play the Tampa-style 4-3 now. You want them to change their entire defensive system just so they can draft Manny Lawson? That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard an analyst say to be completely honest.

actually I think the Titans can, and will pass on Leinart, despite Chow and Jeff Fisher pining for him, Floyd Reese really likes Young and he has the final say

I think Hodge is saying that because he believes in taking QBs late ala Tom Brady, and developing them, he feels you get better value for them later than in the top 15

Hell even Aikmen wasn't really known for his arm strength (although it was probably greater than Lienart's).

As for Young, he's clearly a first round talent. Just gonna take a little time to develop.
I think HOdge is talking about Leinart lacking the necessary arm strength to get the necessary velocity to fit the ball into tight spaces, hence the 8 inches WRs have in seperation in the NFL as opposed to the 8 feet in college comment, if true, it's a valid knock on a QB

There has never been a sports "journalist" that I respected less or disdained more than Homer Hoge-and that includes Theisman. How he has a job anywhere, much less a national brand such as ESPN is a testament to work-place corruption, who you know-ism, and the current state of accepted mediocrity in society.
Thankfully, I was smart enough to have never believed...

This guy is right on the money. This is a classic smokescreen to prevent teams from trying to jump the Titans by trading with the Saints. If the Titans act like they are thinking of taking Young, Linehart might fall to them. Classic smokescreen.

That would set the franchise back five to six years. Vince Young will be a bust. Mark my words, right click, cut, and file. Check back in five years. He'll be sitting in an apartment playing Madden 2011 with Akili Smith and Cade McCown.

Hoge is first round talent in the idiot draft. In fact it is a dead tie to see who would be picked number 1 between him and Theisman for the first overall pick. Every time one of those guys open up their mouth they manage to out due each other in stupid remarks.

The fact that you use Bledsoe's quote tells me that you and Hoge are in the same rut. Steve McNair went to a much smaller school than Young and has done just fine. Back five years, the Titans have been stuck in neutral for the last five years and the team already has a better supporting cast than what Vince had at UT. Vince is indeed a thoroughbred athlete who can make those around him better no what position he plays. I'll bet that in five years, it will be Cutler, that will be on the scrap heap with his 11 wins in 4 years. People will be backtracking off that 'the next Farve talk' quicker than lightning.
