I was just thinking about it and shaking my head how all the teams follow this thing like it's the bible. It basically prevents teams from trading into the top 5 because it costs you all of your draft picks plus next years picks too. From 10 to 5 costs 400 points, basically a 2nd round pick. Ok fine. From 5 to 4 will only cost a 4th
Then the jumps get huge. 400 points for every move you are going up. 4 to 2 is 800 points
That's your 2nd and 3rd, or your next years 1st. It just doesn't add up to me and really hampers teams that are trying to get out of their position. Maybe it should be updated every year depending on what the top players look like. I don't know the solution, but for it to stay the same for 15+ years is kind of silly. JMO.
