and to be honest, overall the draft wasn't that bad. It just seems there is always one pick every year that leaves you scratching your head. I look at other teams around the league and see better drafts, that's all.

I'm guessing most will say C, some maybe C+.....I'm a homer, so I'll give it a B.

I nevner said give outr draft an A, based on the talent of the players we drafted, but the way we drafted. The downfall to the franchise was bad drafting. This past few years, we have been drafting talent that can keep our franchsie going, years after BP has left.

Yeah, the good thing about the 3-4 is it doesn't require athletic and highly drafted DT's. We simply need a big, blocker-eater at NT. Those are available late in the 2nd day.
We definitely need to snag one ... or two.

We could have picked up a lot more talent at another position we need to fill. Simple as that

Trust me...neither Witten nor Fasano were expected to be great TE's by anyone in the NFL.
There have been great TE's chosen every year in round 1....Vernon Davis isn't the first...those are the guys who are GREAT.
Witten has been a big surprise...we hoped he'd be good, but as a 3rd rounder, no one expected him to be a probowler. WE took Fasano a round earlier, but the guy only runs a 4.7, so I don't expect him to be another probowler. WE wanted a TE, and we got the one we wanted, I guess...no more, no less.

I agree. Most of the 'experts' are going to harp on us not selecting an O-lineman earlier, although I get the feeling we kept losing the guy we wanted just before we picked.
Its a solid draft, nothing to complain about IMO, but I have trouble equating it with the much more impactful draft of last year, assuming Burnett pans out.

You're correct.

It would've been really hard to. We had two 1st round picks last year, we got lucky with Canty, and like you said, we still don't even know how Burnett will turn out.

Kind of behind the learning curve a little aren't you?
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

Granted. And I think we may have gotten very lucky with Watson this year.
BUt the O-line holes are glaring, and whether by design or bad luck we couldn't address it, and a KR, developmental DE and a 2nd TE seem like luxery picks considering the O-line holes.
Again, not complaining, we held to true to our board IMO and its tough to go wrong that way, I just don't see this draft as a "wow, A grade" draft when matching players to needs.
I give it a solid B, possibly better if Hatcher pans out, but I see where others will rate it lower because of the lack of movement on the O-line.

Yes, I am. Don't have time to read the board anymore. Sorry if the confusion has already been expressed by most rational Cowboy fans.

Give it a rest already. This was a solid draft. Most everyone agrees. You are moving up your draft grade(D- to C) based on a FS drafted in the 5th round? LOL

Alright, they just picked up Montavius Stanley from Louisville, a big nose tackle.
