Why would Aikman have Norv Turner introduce him rather then Jimmy Johnson? Other then being a good offensive coordinator for the Cowboys, Turner has been a bust in the NFL.

Because that's who HE wants. It's Troy's day, get it? He and Norv were and still are very close by all accounts. Not that he and Jimmy aren't friends, but Troy and Norv had a special relationship.

Well, I guess that's as close as Norv will get to the HOF anyways, and Jimmy Johnson is going to be in on his own accord in a few years.

BTW, did anyone hear the HOF speech Dan Marinos son gave for him? Surprisingly it made me emotional, along with Reggie White getting inducted posthumously.

Actually, Troy called me.

But, I had to decline because I told him I wasn't much of a spoke person.

I did however, recommend Norv Turner.

I read somewhere that Troy believes he wouldn't have had the success he did, if it weren't for Norv coming to the Boys as Offensive Coordinator.

Because Norv was a big help to Troy when he was here and put together an offense that was the perfect fit for Aikman.

Yes, they really did seem to connect, and were the perfect fit for each other. I remember watching a Cowboys game during the "Norv era"; Dan Fouts was one of commentators. He stated that Norv had learned under Campese who learned from Don "Air" Coryell. Anyway, for years, when teaching the mechanics of the QB position, footwork, etc., the prototype example they would use was Fouts. Aikman had "remastered" it so well, that he became the textbook example they now use to teach others. Nice humble comment from Fouts on Aikmans ability. To me, it further qualified what we were all seeing on the making of a HOF career.

PS- I'll be in Canton to see Troy go in.

He should have a group of Redskins introduce him, afterall, they had as much to do with him getting in as anyone else.

Norv is the reason that Troy is in the HOF!! He knows it, I know it, and everybody else knows it.

Um, I think Troy himself had a lot to do with it...

Norv called me and told me he had to back out. I'm going to do it.

I think two reasons. One, he and Norv really were good friends, and two, if you remember back to the beginning, Troy was really frosted when Jimmy picked his Miami U. QB in the first round of the supplemental draft that year, and he and Jimmy didn't start to get along until he traded him, leaving Troy as the only #1 QB.
