Default Leodis McKelvin will not be there at 22

Alot of people like mckelvin and think he would be a great fit for the cowboys, but i can gaurantee he will not be there at 22 so pick another cb. He's a top 3 corner in the draft and there are plenty of teams that need a franchise corner. Truth hurts

How bout both ones for the 4th pick from Oakland to draft McKelvin? At least that would make alot more sense than going up to #1 for a freaking RB.

I might pull the trigger myself if Raiders were willing to do a straight up swap of our 2 ones for their one.

I talked to one of the sports radio host down here on Monday, he attends the senior bowl every year. He thought mckelvin would be there as well. He said we can forget about Cromartie, he's elevated himself into the teens.

Obvious Statement + Baseless Speculation = New Thread

A tried and true forumla.
We need wins, and that's all we need. I don't give a damn about anyone on this roster over wins. I'd trade Ware, Lee and Dez if it meant more wins.

I'm glad you've chosen to be a part of this community, but to 'guarantee' things that are completely out of your control is the quickest way for you to lose credibility amongst your peers. I don't post much here, as I enjoy the view from afar. It's ok to just 'learn' before sharing your extensive knowledge with the rest of us.

And Brady Quinn won't last until 22 either.

Oh, wait.....

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

Its Jan. 31, a lot can happen between now and The end of April. Like the Combine.

Agreed. There's so much head scratching about the telent level at the point of the draft where Dallas picks. There's no consensus overall #1 pick and determining "value" has been difficult for a lot of folks. I'm hoping Jerry doesn't get "cute" and declare his man-crush on McFadden prior to the draft. All that would do is drive up the asking price. I' be happy if the Boys came away from the Combine with a "no comment" or engage in some creative smoke-blowing. Remember Jerry, mum's the word!

Stephen Jackson was never going to be there at 24. He was the top RB in the Draft.

Learn from the past.

As I have posted before there may be a lot of teams that also need positions we are looking to draft. However if you look at the draft and see who goes in the first round by position:

2007 CB
14. Darrelle Reevis
18. Leon Hall
20. Aaron Ross
( The CB that I liked the most was Chris Houston from Ark who went 41 overall)

2006 CB
15. Tye Hill
19. Antonio Cromartie
24. Jonathan Joseph
31. Kelly Jennings

It is still unclear the order the CB/DB in this years drafts will come off the board. Cromartie is making a splash. Id say Jenkins/ McKelvin/ Cason/ Cromartie. Talib is more of a Tampa 2 guy in my eyes and could end up going ahead of some of the higher ranked CB's due to the effictiveness he might have in a Tampa 2 scheme. They cant all be gone by 22 especially when the last 2 years CB's were all mid to late firsts.

I could name 15 players that arent CB's that will more than likely be drafted before 22. But Im not gonna put a guarantee on it.

Mckelvin is getting major hype right now because of the Senior Bowl. But the truth is, if Jenkins, Cason, Talib, etc., would have accepted their invites to the Senior Bowl, Mckelvin would likely have looked like the 3rd or 4th best CB there. Being the best at the Senior Bowl doesn't necessarily mean you're the best in the draft.

If Jenkins came out and Iguweno (sp) didn't get hurt, then I would say we would have a chance, but I think he is gone in the top 15 now.

I wonder if people even watch the draft.

Every year there are players that are "reached" for....and every year there are players that "drop".

That's why we watch. You never know what will happen.

I remember thinking in 98 that there would be NO WAY Moss would fall to us. But he did.....and kept falling.

Aaron Rodgers was supposed to be vying for the number one spot a few years ago.....he sat in the Green Room for three hours.

Saying a guy like McKelvin will never be there is ridiculous. It's impossible to tell. Right now, I'd say that there's only a handful of players that are locks to be gone....and even that's in jeopardy with the combine/on-campus workouts/police-blotters/drug tests still out there.
