No, because I think Kevin Jones will be there at #22 and we won't have to give up anything...
And plus, I think KJ is the better fit for us... SJ is the better back, but KJ would be the better fit

I respectfully disagree in the fact that the knock on K. Jones is that he doesn't run well between the tackles... Jackson is a BRUISER and punishes would-be tacklers...
Mad at me now?

You don't know that Philly is looking to trade up. Actually the SF deal was blown dead a couple of days ago because the 49ers couldn't afford the player that the Eagles were going to give them (OG Jon Welbourn).

I'd rather trade this year's second than next year's second. We are already missing a 3rd for next year. I want SJ but wow i don't know what i'm willing to give up for him yet.
"Some people create with words, or with music, or with a brush and paints. I like to make something beautiful when I run. I like to make people stop and say, "I've never seen anyone run like that before." It's more then just a race, it's a style. It's doing something better then anyone else. It's being creative." -Steve Prefontaine

Do you remember how many times Hambrick had wide open holes last season, but it would only end up bein a 7-8 yard gain because Hambrick is slow as hell and has no juking ability at all? Well if Kevin Jones had those same opportunities, those 7-8 yard gains would be 20+ yard gains.
Kevin Jones may not be as good as a inside runner as Jackson, but he's a helluva lot quicker to the hole than Jackson is..

So that is without trading our 1st this year, I think I would do that if we dont include our first this year. If Det trades down with NE I think we might have to make a move with Phil, Den (i dont think they are),Det all targeting a RB. I just dont see Denver who have Hearst and Griffin targeting a RB when they need a LB, WR, CB.
Lets say we did this trade, with the Jets pick we could take Jackson and at 22 we could sit and wait to see if anybody interests us, if not maybe we could trade with NE or Cincy.
1) S. Jackson
1) D. Strait
2) Justin Smiley
3) Vasher/ LeSeur
3) Tony Pape
4) S. Spencer
5) Jericho Cotchery

We don't need 3 CB's... I don't even think we'll draft one CB let alone 3..
But Replace Derrick Strait with Rashaun Woods, and I like that draft

Nope, CB is a MUCH MUCH MUCH bigger need then WR. Strait could step in and be the starter right away. It might be possible for Dunta Robinson to slip to 22 then I think we stay at 22 and take him. But IMO this trade is far fetched

Always nice to have an Iggle fan here... I see you made the transition... welcome...
Have you not been reading the headlines? Philly is looking to move up... not just with SF... now... given... sports columnists are looking for things to write until tomorrow... but most media say Philly is trying to move up...

No, I think he was talking about giving them our #22 pick also. The key phrase would be "move up". That would imply that we exchange our #1 for a higher #1 along with other considerations.

I don't think CB is a huge need.
If anything, I think we're status-quo there.
Newman is a star, Hunter is the developer, Mitchell is the NB.....
I know it's a gamble to rely on a former 5th round pick from Virginia Union, but it's no more of a gamble that relying on one of the CBs in this draft. I believe Hunter will be no worse than Edwards last year.
The only CBs that, IMO, can compete for a starting position would be Robinson, and of course, Hall. There are no "Newmans, Trufants, or even Jammers" in this draft.
Gamble is quite a prospect, but he's a boom/bust type. Strait is a player I like, but he's more of a Cover2 guy. I don't see anyone's fascination with Shawntae Spencer.....so he ran a fast forty. He was barely on anyone's radar before he ran it.
I'm not saying drafting a CBs a bad idea. But I don't think it's a good idea to draft one before round three. And the CB we draft will be for depth/development.......
These CB prospects are as much of a gamble to draft for starting positions as Hunter is.

As for the original question...I do believe that the Eagles are trying to trade up, but last I heard around here is that it appears that it may be difficult for them to find a partner. Even if they do trade up, I just don't see them selecting Jackson.
