T.J. LANG MEASURABLES
Height: 6-4 Weight: 312
40-yard dash: 5.12
Strengths: Is a hard worker who plays with a nasty disposition. Has good football intelligence and will do all he can to get better. Is a solid athlete with impressive footwork. Is a tough player who will play hurt. Has outstanding speed for an offensive tackle. Is flexible in his knees and plays with leverage. Is an exceptional pass protector who can handle double moves. Plays balanced and is rarely on the ground. Moves well and can adjust his feet in space. Is technically sound.
Weaknesses: Needs to improve overall body strength. Will waist bend as a run blocker and lead with his head too much. Must improve anchor ability when blocking bull rushers.
Bottom line: Lang is a player who received marginal grades two season ago, but his play in 2008 has taken him to a new level and will put him in elite company come the 2009 draft. He has the ability to play all along the offensive line, and will rise up draft boards with his solid footwork. While Lange still needs to get stronger, he has the versatility and work ethic to have his name called on the first day of the draft.
