He will be missed, did not always agree with him but always enjoyed his opinion and point of view. I am in agreement with the punch in the stomach feeling expressed by some of the others.
Rest in Peace Cbz40 and my deepest sympathy to his loved ones. |

Sadly, his final post had to do with the new stadium's logo--a stadium he didn't live long enough to see. I noticed, however, that his last visit was one week ago, which means someone in his family must be accessing this site. I hope they're reading these tributes and realizing how much he meant to us.

I was saddened by the news of Mr. E. WELDON PARKHILL, JR. demise. I knew him as CBz40 and have dialoged with him for many many years.
I will miss him. Farewell my friend. PT  Good Hunting ...or Tally-Ho! (Hunt cry "the prey has been sighted") " Tallio, Hoix, Hark, Forward," which is a corruption of the French hunter's call. Four hundred years ago the French hunter encouraged his dogs with the musical cry of "Thia-hilaud a qui forheur!" sometimes printed "Tya-hillaut a qui forheur!" I've only interacted with Cbz40 once...
I PM'd him to thank him for all the articles he regularly posted onto the Daily Zone, since I regularly read them. His response was classy as can be. He flipped it and thanked me for my support of CowboysZone, remarking that it's the membership that makes this board great. From the account of those who knew him better, it seems this level of kindness was the norm for "Pops". R.I.P. Pops... wish I got to know you better. |

Let me be the first to say how blown away I was when reading this. I have never spoken directly to CBZ40 on this forum because I'm more of a reader than poster but in a strange twist, I directly knew CBZ40. You see, I had no idea but I used to refer to CBZ40 simply as Mr. Parkhill.
I grew up in the town of Edinburg, TX. My freshman year of highschool started off in our new highschool, Edinburg North High School (the cougars!). I was in band and played trumpet. Mr. Parkhill was our head band director. He was the school's first ever head band director. I still remember our first game where we marched at halftime. It was in Port Isabel. It was because the way he ran our band that I fell in love with Marching band. I quit tennis and devoted my time soley to band. Unfortuantely, he had to step down after that first year, I'm not completely sure why but I thought it was for health reasons. So I would like to express my sorrow to his family. I wish I could have connected with him on this forum and it just goes to show that no matter how big the internet is, it's can be a small world. I'm going to try and be more of a poster than a reader and maybe make some new friends here. So you see Mr. Parkhill, you're still teaching me lessons... |
