This weekend is the 40th anniversary of "Deliverance",so they're having a festival on the Chatooga River over in Long Creek,SC this weekend. No, no "pig squeal" contests or anything like that. It's art shows, nature hikes, meet the authors/actors stuff. Billy Redden, the "banjo boy", works at the local WalMart. There are times I come out of the store to see Billy and some tourist who just has to have a pic with him. He's good natured about it, and one day I told him to start charging ten dollars for a pic. He just laughed.
oogan - that sounds like a lot of fun - seriously. Enjoy!

Deliverance is a classic movie. OINK!

Morning Cbz. Morning Sarge, ologan and all the rest too.

I agree that the deliverance festival sounds like a ton of fun.

I'm going to a car show/swap meet today in Fort Worth. I have a '55 Bel Air convertible and enjoy getting together with other old car buffs. That's supposed to be buffs of old cars not old buffs of cars. Although, come to think of it, some of us, like me, are pretty old. Either way, the missus and I are going. I think she's going along to make sure I don't spend to much money on parts and doo dads.

Morning Pops. Morning everybody, all the regulars and all the visitors.

Have another Graduation party this weekend. Been over at my cousins house these last few days helping him lay sod and basically get ready for the party. Last night we finished building a porch to cover his back patio so I think we are about squared away.

Anyway, little tired this morning but it's Friday and that can't be a bad thing. Everybody, have a great day.

Good morning, Cbz and the same to all you busy Zoners. ABQ, it sounds like the graduation is still a major event. Enjoy to the fullest. Ologan, the fesival sounds great. Despite the jokes, Deliverance was a terrific movie. Leon, it's not about if you buy parts and doo dads, it's simply how many you get. BTW, the "Old Car Buffs" moniker usually applies to both the vehicles and the owners. You have to be able to remember riding around in the original stock, off the lot vehicle.

We've got the Highland Games here this weekend, but the weather isn't looking promising, so I'm opting out of competing in the drumming category. There's nothing worse than a soggy kilt. I've also decided not to toss the Caber either. There's a limit to my Scottish heritage. Bob, there are sheepdog trials, but I think the owners have to wear a kilt. I'm sure i could round one up if you want bring your hounds up north. I'm just not sure if you can wear a kilt with a cowboy hat.

Everybody have a great weekend.

Enjoy that car Leon! I use to have a 55 Chevy Wagon Street Rod (not a Nomad). It was strawberry red (like candy apple red) with a pearl white top - it was gorgeous and like an idiot, I sold it. I miss it.

In my family Phil, anytime you can get one to the point of graduation, it's a big deal.

Enjoy the weekend Phil.

Morning Cbz. Morning everyone.

We didn't buy much stuff at the automobile swap meet yesterday, but I did see a lot of really nice stuff that I didn't need. I thought it was to be combined with a car show, and there were a few cars (some really nice) for sale, but it was primarily a swap meet. Nice people though, and we had fun.

Welcome to the weekend, and I hope you all enjoy it to the max.

Morning Pops. Morning Fellas and Kristie. Morning to all who may come this way.

Leon, I've been entertaining my self with window shopping, so to speak, for years. Love to have a lot of it but can't afford it. It's still fun.

Ologan, you keeping me ground and sane!

Bob, you enjoy your weekend as well.

Morning Cbz. Morning everyone and I hope you have a blessed day.

ABQ, yeah I love to browse through vintage car stuff, antiques, swap meets and the like. Strike up a few conversations with strangers, and think about the stories some of the items could tell if they could talk.

Good morning, Cbz and good morning, fellow Cowboys devotees. No chance to sign in yesterday, as the Mrs had a dawn-to-dusk "Honey-Do"list. Got through it and now I can spend Sunday cleaning the Barbecue! Those cast iron plates need a little TLC. Leon, it sounded like the swap meet was tons of fun. Bob, only a few weeks until your boy Will lights up Calgary. I could't get tickets to the Rodeo, so I'll have to watch it on TV. At least the beer will be cheaper at my house.

Ologan, I am so ready for training camp. This is when football is at its' most invisible point. The CFL doesn't do it for me and the NFL Network has nothing interesting on. You folks take care and have a great day.
