Take the best available player at a position of need or trade down for value where we see it.
Take a Guard later in the draft where we should be looking.
What do I win?

Ducasse has great upside and could/would replace Kosier day one. He has some potential at LT aswell

My #1 choice would be trade down and take Ducasse OG, Eric Olsen C, and Calloway/Veldheer later ...........
If I can't do that I go Pouncey & Mike Johnson, and Calloway/Veldheer.
Wildcard = Brandon Spikes

Joe Asamoah or Mike Johnson and actually, I probably like both of these players over Iupati right now.

Best Available excluding Kicker before 5th, Punter, QB, Outside Linebacker, HB, & WR or CB if in first round.
By that I mean No QB, no OLB, no Punter, no HB, no WR or CB in the first round and no Kicker before 5th.

If he's gone I sort of hope we trade down. This draft is so deep we can make out like a bandit with two 2nd round picks.

Could you go in a little detail as to why? Everyone likes who they like but I was just curious because everyone seems to be really high on Iupati.

I don't get all emotional over only one player and lose all sense of reason and logic. If he is gone, we can still get a good player.

I don't like the mobility of Iupati. He's very strong but I don't know that he can pull or block in space. We do use our Guards to pull and lead so I think that anybody we draft should be able to have the ability to get out and block in space. If Iupati is able to do this, then it's clearly another matter entirely. Both Asamoah and Johnson have good agility and latteral ability. As Guards, I think they translate better to the Pro game and offer more upside. If your talking about playing just Right Guard, then Iupati probably translates well. However, if your playing left Guard, which historically calls for better feet and from the discussion on this board, Kosier seems to be the odd man out, then I think these other players might work better as options. If Iupati shows much better ability at the combine, then I'd guess he is probably much better then I think he is. If he is as limited as I fear he might be in this area, he's not who I would rather have. Johnson and Asamoah are both quality Guard prospects and I think they might be around later. I like the value they present and the upside much better.

Oh, I think he is but I think he's limited to just that.
