The biggest problem with Galloway, is that for the second consecutive season, he suddenly ceased to exist at the end of the year, he was nothing more than a highly paid decoy.
Glenn still has speed, Johnson will be a good possession guy, and hopefully Bryant can split the difference, hopefully with KJ as a mentor.
The most important thing to the success of our receivers is the running game, if Julius and company force a few men to inch toward the box, then we have a shot to have the pass feed off the run and vice versa.
I think Hambrick was a far worse facctor in our O last year than Carter. Sure carter had picks, but he threw for over 3000 yards, Hambrick couldn't manage 1k. Like it or not, last year, all of our offense went through Carter.
PS: I am not a Carter fan, I am just bashing Hambrick and hoping Jones does more to help our wideouts get open.

I am just glad not to be reminded every game what we gave up for Galloway. PS:What was our rushing ranking compared to our passing?

Dallas has no one left to stretch the defense-- unless Randall Williams hands turn from stone to flesh-- we NEED a better OL and running game and we will need to run first.
What NFL team besides Baltimore (who had MVP-calibre preformances at RB and MLB) wins these days with a run-first approach?

You are right. Galloway had some first down catches. Some damn good ones on some long balls. I should have clarified better. Galloway is not the type of receiver that you can go to over the middle for the tough yards. Glenn and Witten were used for this because Galloway is not this type of receiver. At least Parcells believes this or he would have used him in these situations. Key will do this better than Galloway or any other WR playing for Dallas at this time. IMO Glenn can be a deep threat. He has the speed and hands.
I don't agree with a run first approach either. You must be balanced and unpredictable. (Carolina is a good example of this.) That is why Key is an improvent over Galloway. He is a better overall receiver and improves the passing game. As far as offensive lineman and a better running game, I think Dallas made improvements. Rogers was an All-American and voted the Pac-10's O-lineman of the year. Peterman was All-SEC and voted All-American by numerous publications. (ESPN, SI, Sporting News). Jones is a definite upgrade over Hambrick. None of these guys have played a down, so I must admit I am being optimistic. I don't think my optimism is baseless, however.
To anwer your question about teams with a run first mentality, I don't know of any team other than Baltimore either that is prospering.

Galloway was NOT used to his strengths in Dallas...Gruden is clearly more innovative and experimental as an offensive coach than Parcells...I think both players will do much better under their new coaches than they did under the former coaches, but I think Gruden will help Galloway produce a huge year in TB, much bigger than Keyshaun...that should not illicit any comments that Galloway should have been kept here...Parcells is too conservative to ever maximize the use of a player like Galloway.
Parcells will call Keyshaun's number over and over for 7 yard passes for first downs...that's not Galloway's game...Galloway never got to play with a possession receiver who would fight for the ball and keep the chains moving.
