From the Washington Post-Hambrick
Troy Hambrick appears to be the early front-runner to be the Raiders' starting tailback, ahead of fellow free-agent addition Amos Zereoue and holdovers Tyrone Wheatley and Justin Fargas. The Raiders signed Hambrick on Monday, only four days after he was released by Dallas.

He wont ever be a dominant player, but I wouldnt be surprised if he gained 1100-1200 yds if he stays healthy and gets enough work...Oakland has the makings of a pretty solid OL, and whether Gannon or perhaps Kerry Collins (if he signs there as many think) starts at QB, both are vastly superior to the Q crapper...Norv knows offense

You're definitely in the minority. Hambrick will stink it up next year and be out of the NFL in a few years.

I'll buy into that. Given a decent OL that allows him to run downhill, Hambone could bulldoze some nice gains before cutting and then tripping over himself.

since he is in the best of shape...tripping over himself could actually happen...

I think Hambrick makes a nice change of pace back. When he came off the bench to give Emmitt a breather he did great, he will just never be the featured back .

I doubt it (that he'll be out of the NFL soon)...he can play TB and FB,can catch the ball some can play special teams, blocks well and works hard by all accounts..there's always places on teams rosters for someone like that

Hambrick, even at the same salary, would receive more offers then Emmitt.
Now that we got this ugly truth out of the way you guys can continue your attacks on the man.

If Emmitt was at the same point of his career that Hambrick is , I would have to believe your wrong .

That's why he won't be successful. Now that he's started, he doesn't have the attitude to be a backup, change of pace back.

I would agree.......if I hadn't seen him play last year.
The guy does not have breakaway speed, does not have the moves to juke the first tackler, does not have the power to run over people, and does not run strong when hurt.
Other than that.....if you give him a gaping hole and a 10 yard head start....he'll break some long runs

Agreed! Couldn't have said it better myself.
