Audio File Audio: Broaddus breaks down player performances

Broaddus on who was good and who was bad

Here's some stuff from tonight's The Football Show where Bryan Broaddus breaks down some of the players performances against the Bengals...

Broaddus - Who was good and who was bad

I have been saying it all Spring and Summer that Stephen Bowen is going to be better than Jason Hatcher He's just a playmaker when the lights come on.

Jason Williams had a lot of tackles, but he was lost on that Bengals TD pass. He's got to drop back and cover that passing lane. Instead he drifts to the sideline because the flow was moving that was and the CB or Safety was already in that area.

Brandon Williams and Victor Butler are coming on big time. Very nice having solid backups to Ware and Spencer.

You and Broadus crack me up. Why take a shot at J. Williams when his game was no less perfect then the other LBs?

Jason had a great game much like the other 2nd year guys. It really is that simple.

That TD is on Butler he should have had the QB. How you can blame another LB is beyond me when Butler is stiffarmed by the QB!

So if one player doesn't make his play, it's okay for all players to not perform their assignments?

Despite labeling myself a "realist", no one understands my pain or appreciates my special truth. Stupid world.

That depends on how long you expect the guy to cover a receiver.

Butler is a beast

good in coverage - good at pass rushing - good against the run

bye bye Siavii

bye bye Wall

bring it on Gronkowski

knows for a fact a plan in place if Beuhler can't do it

impressed with Hamlin an McCray

Actually, your both right. J.Williams SHOULD have been in position, because that's his responsibility. If he's in the right zone, that a pick, knock down at the least. BUT Butler SHOULD have made the sack too. He was right there, just wasn't under enough control to get a strong shot on the QB, and got stiffarmed. The play should have been dead right there.

So basically, what we have is 2 young, potential monsters (espiecially in J. Will's case) at LB's who SHOULD have made big plays, but showed a flaw in their game. Both had above average overall games IMO, so I'll take it as a learning moment for both of them from the 1st preseason game of the year.

The cool thing is that all the good LB depth we saw the other day was built on a third rounder, two fourths, and the rest a bunch of free agents.

Imagine if we used a second rounder or higher on someone...

Oh wait, like Sean Lee.

Becaus we all know he can run and tackle.

We are waiting for him to get it as far as his assignments in coverage.

That was a clear case where he hasn't figured it out yet.

I don't think you can count out Wall after one preseason game where he wasn't nearly as bad as people are making him out to be. He had decent coverage early. If the Cowboys were that quick to make decisions, Mike Jenkins wouldn't be here either.

I thought he looked pretty good too.

Honestly I dont see how there could be much criticism with anyone on the defense. They flat out took the Bengals to the woodshed all night.

Hell their STARTERS couldnt even move the ball on our backups.

A new era begins

This.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

Indeed and that is all that needs to be said.

Unfortunately, there are those that make a snap judgment early in a player’s career and find themselves trying to convince everyone not to believe their lying eyes.

The toothbrush had to be invented in West Virginia, if it was created anywhere else it would have been called a teethbrush.
