LOL. I hope people don't take that the wrong way. It was just a quote I found funny, I really don't think I am a great debater by any means.

Hey a picture of Drew Henson super imposed over a picture of Troy Aikman in my sig line from months ago was proof of my great hatred of our starting QB. You never know how it will be interpretted.

Feast your eyes upon the personification of hatred. The weak at heart should look away.

You guys are debating on a stance that I have not made. I haven't stated that Carter is ther long term answer, neither have I insinuated that those quotes mean Carter IS the Long term answer.

Stop arguing with ghosts.

I have stated that Carter has a Chance to get over the hump. Parcells, Woody, Staubach and Jerry Jones quotes justify my opinion.

Like I stated before please stick to the topic. I haven't stated anywhere that Carter is the long term answer and I haven't used any quotes or interpretations of quotes to justify Carter being the Long term answer.

[View Full Quote]

How about this...

There is a chance that QC is the long term answer.

There is a Chance that Carter will be the franchise QB the cowboys have been wanting since Troy Retired.

There is a Chances that Carter could be one of if not the top QB's in the league this season.

There is a Chance that QC could win the league MVP this season.

There is a Chance that QC could win a Superbowl MVP this season.

There is a Chance that QC could play so well this year that the he and his Agent could want too much money going into next year and the Cowboys would not match what he wants so he goes to another team.

There Is a Chance that by the end of QC's career he could have career records in a category or categories..that surpass any other QB that has played.

There is a Chance QC could wind up with more Superbowl victories/rings/trophies then any other QB in the NFL.

There is a Chance that QC could be in the Ring of Honor.

There is a Chance that QC could be in the Hall of fame.

HOWEVER there is also....

There is a Chance that QC could lose his starting job in training Camp this year.

There is a Chance that QC could lose his starting job during the season.

There is a Chance that QC plays so poor that the Cowboys do not even offer a new contract to him after the season.

There is a Chance that QC winds up being nothing more then a backup QB in this league.

There is a Chance that QC winds up not being a QB (starter/backup/3rd string) in the NFL in the future.

There is a Chance that the QC expmnt winds up wasting years from our team getting back to the superbowl.

There is a Chance that QC wigs out on the team again.

There is a Chance that QC could lead the league in negative categories (ints, fumbles)

There is a Chance that QC is not the long term answer.

Now I am sure you may think that the second group of Chances are all truly far fetched...while others may feel that some have a great chance of happening.

Others may think the first group of chances are far fetched, while you or others may think that some have a great chance of happening.

But here is the bottom line...nobody knows...not even the coaches at this point....it is all speculation or feelings on either side of the fence.

However I will say this...there are only a handful of people on this forum that tend to try and pass their opinions of what will happen off as fact.....no matter how strong ones opinions are they are not fact until they are proven to be fact down the road.

Either way...as strong as you may feel, and feel you have a right to feel that way.....others feel the same way with their stance.

Does it make either of you right or wrong....IMO if it is an opinion that has no basis in fact yet then ANY of the stances could be right.

Now that does not take into account those few handfuls of posters that try to pass their opinions off as fact.

So as you can see, as passionate as you feel about the topic and get irritated by others who do not share your view.....they also feel passionate about their views and get irritated because you do not feel the same.

No matter whether the chances are good or bad about what happens with QC, the Cowboys or the NFL down the road....until it happens nobodies opinions are wrong of how he will turn out...because we just do not know right now.

And it immediately made me think of Chance Buckman of "Hellfighters."

Of course for some, it might have conjured up memories of John T. Chance in "Rio Bravo."

Which was similar to "El Dorado" with the first having Deam Martin as the drunk and the second with Robert Mitchum.

Umm...so you compare him to real rookie QB's...the type who actually play football as opposed to baseball? YOu view Henson on equal terms with all the QB's who just finished their college careers in football?

You certainly have every right to view him as their equal...no problem with that...I'm more practical...I look at history so I don't have to hope my rookie QB becomes the first one in the history of the NFL to go from another sport to the NFL and become a star. Can you name even 1? Has a QB even ever been out of football for a few years and come back to it successfully?

Again, I'll be thrilled if Henson becomes the first in history...I like firsts with the Cowboys...I just don't believe it will happen because it never has as far as my limited knowledge goes.

It is possible that the time spent playing pro baseball has give him a chance to mature and adjust that rookies fresh out of college did not have.Added maturety in a QB in a player can only help them develop sooner. That said I hope he is given whatever time he needs to develop. whether it's training camp or 3 years there is no way to tell.I do look forward to all our QB's developing as soon as possible.

Well not from another sport...but out of football for a few years...Roger the Dodger for your very own Dallas Cowboys.

I don't know why not. I do that for every rookie. Playing baseball is still an athletic endeavor. Serving a military commitment is still an athletic endeavor of sorts. Some rookies struggle. Chad Hutchinson struggled. That does not mean that everyone will.

He's been working out with Professional coaches since November and the Cowboys since he signed. Eli Manning and the other rookies couldn't until after the draft. In some ways that is to his advantage as far as terminology, conditioning, etc.

Look, I just think he's an okay kid with a lot of potential. That's all. Nothing more. Nothing less. If our team goes with him I believe it will be because he proves he deserves it.
