Default Who will replace Julius Jones if he is injured?

I think the Cowboys are out of legitimate options if Julius Jones goes down. I do like Rashard Lee, he could do well if given the opportunity, but it's very thin past Julius Jones. He is not a lock, either. Dallas really should have gotten two RB's out of the draft. If Julius Jones is lost for the season, Dallas could very well have TWO top ten picks next year.

By the way, does anyone have the clips of Julius Jones from ESPN's draft coverage?

Nate, please...don't jinx the Boys. We'll have enough trouble as it is.

Did we have a viable option after Hambrick last year? When you have holes at RB, G, OT, and CB and only 5 draft picks you can't use two picks on a RB in case one gets hurt.

In the age of the salary cap, you can't always have great depth, especially at the marquee positions.

What happens if Bill Parcells goes down.......

Come on now, every team has to deal with situations like this......we all don't like it, but lets not dwell on "what if's".

we have the money to sign a vet RB, the question is will we. other teams have really good #2 options, KC has larry johnson, chi has a train, the jags have greg jones, SL has steven jackson, philly is RBBC, the giants have ron dayne, denver has a plethora of RBs, NE has kevin faulk, the vikings have onterrio smith and moe williams, jets have lamont jordon and so on.

who do we have? a couple of undrafted free agents.

Not saying this is the route we go, but Dallas could go get something after June 1st if they see fit. It's quite possible we go forward with what's in the fold currently, but it's hard to know with them being as tight lipped as they are out at the Ranch.

Just saying, don't rule out those late free agent additions with players who become available in a couple weeks. And, of course, this doesn't just apply to the running back position.

There were rumors about Watters, and A. Smith is still available. Anyone not looking for a starters job, but willing to compete should be good, but keep in mind, the colts didn't know how good their back ups were until James got hurt. The point is, you just never know who the PTP is going to be when the lights come on. Maybe Lee, maybe someone else. Let 'em play and find out.

You know...I dont even want to think about this. However, I DO believe though that a veteran will be brought in before training camp as insurance. Also, dont forget about Anderson......Bill will not hesitate to run him if needed.

The Cowboys went for years without a quality back-up to Emmitt, so what else is new.

Here is the espn clip of Julius Jones.

(This is not my personal link, this is jaxelrod's that was posted on another board. There are also some local dallas newscast and some other espn footage at the second link that are also jaxelrod's.)

Window Media Player needed

(For the computer illiterate:right click first link and click Save Target As)

I would like to see Lee be ready to step up and take the backup spot as his
own. He seems to have the physical tools for the job, now it's a question of picking up the blocking assignments, etc., too.

after a few seasons, emmitt established himself as one of the best, and one of the most durable. julius has done neither and i would like to protect against injury. no sense having all your eggs in one basket.
