When there is minimal pass rush he has good accuracy in the short to medium range. He's got very good arm strength. He throws a very accurate and catchable long ball. He's tough.

Hutch brings a lot to the table in terms of being able to throw the ball - his problems are due to the fact that he's not a QB, he's a guy with a QB's arm. IMO he simply hasn't played the position enough at this late stage of his development to suddenly become a QB.

But that's not to say there is nothing he's good at. I'll bet if they put him in the NFL QB's competition he'd do pretty well compared to NFL starters because he has physical skills, he simply can't put them together in a game at this point because of his lack of experience at the position.

Let's face it, he hasn't exactly been thrown into the best of positions here. He was rushed into the starting role before he was ready, and then he gets sent out to Europe where he is playing with a weak O-line....granted the defensive lines are top caliber either.

He still has weaknesses that he should have been able to rectify though and that is what is concerning. I can understand getting hit from the blindside and fumbling, but when the guy is coming straight up the middle or from an area that you should be able to see the guy coming at, he should at least be stepping up in the pocket or side-stepping by now.

If he doesn't get that fixed in the next two years he won't be in the NFL period. I don't think an NFL team has the patience to deal with that anymore.

I'm pretty good at my job and I'll never match his bank account. Wish I could fail like that.

Default It depends are you a half full or half empty guy

You could say Hutch makes a good tackling dummy :p

or how about Hutch is good at making the defense look good

Hutch is good at asking questions (Coach what is my role ?)

The list goes on and on there are lots of good things to say about Hutch you just have to look in the right place or maybe at the proper angles

I degress!!!

I think Chad is out in Dallas but I do not think his career is over not quite he needs another year or two to grow he may sill become a QB. He will land in some teams camp as a backup

Think about it guys like Paul Justin lasted what 7 years as a back up or how about TY Demeter he had what 13 years as a weak arm backup

Cryin Ryan got 3 chances for pete sake

Jason Garret who the cowboys thought so much of at one time they signed Bernie Kosar for a 1/2 season yet he has lasted longer than Troy Aikman. Bernie got a ring and played well for so little pratice hehe

Good luck chad where ever you go wish I had your bad luck of failing at stuff for millions of dollars

True.

But that doesn't mean he belongs in either the NFL or MLB. And last I checked I wasn't the one impersonating a NFL QB or MLB Pitcher.

Hutch sucks as a football player...that is now in the books and proven...however, I would not be at all surprised to see him go back to baseball.

Hutch didn't exactly "fail" in baseball...he had a 95 mile an hour baseball, but he was a perfectionist and let his head get him into binds...still, he made my favorite team's major league roster (the Cardinals) and he showed promise. When he left baseball for football, it was not because the Cardinals cut him or lost interest...it was his decision.

If Hutch wants to go back to baseball, he could sign a minor league contract tomorrow and get another shot at the Bigs in a short order...if he's smart, he'll give up on football and go back.
