Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on drafting Smith: 'I think our fans are sophisticated enough to know how important a really talented offensive lineman can be'

It didn't have the "wow" factor a showman like Jerry Jones may have wanted. But the Cowboys' owner seemed satisfied with the team's choice of USC offensive tackle Tyron Smith with the ninth overall pick of the NFL Draft on Thursday.

"He was unique enough in his skills," Jones said. "And he's very athletic."

Love the selection, keep adding to the OL to get the running game going.

Jerry, we're 'sophisticated' enough to be able to handle watching you draft two more offensive linemen during this draft as well.

Let 'em cry!

Probably kids chasing after the next 'shiny object'.

This team has enough of those already.

Time to get the hogs up front to man both sides of the trenches.

Now I'm greedy for linemen!

Give me some combination involving Rackley or Wisniewski!

Jerry couldn't have looked more uninterested in the PC last night.

What a weird comment for him to make..how about just saying they needed an OL and that's what they were targeting.

I'm not really excited about selecting an OL first with a very high draft choice but I understand...they suck in the OL and while knowing nothing about Smith I guess they felt he was too good to pass on.

Now about that horrid secondary...fix that Jerry. Please.
