This is simply pathetic..............
Cowboys | Fast Fact: NFL Draft - from www.KFFL.com
Thu, 10 Mar 2005 21:02:02 -0800
Mickey Spagnola, of DallasCowboys.com, reports from 1994 through 2001, a total of eight drafts, the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/14/nfl"> Dallas Cowboys selected 66 players, only three of whom have since gone to the Pro Bowl. Furthermore, just five of the aforementioned 66 draftees—OG Larry Allen, DL Greg Ellis, OT Flozell Adams, LB Dat Nguyen and DL Willie Blade—are still on the team.

And of those five:
Larry Allen (Tried to trade away)
Greg Ellis (Decent)
Flozell Adams (If not for Parcells, probably would have been released)
Dat Nguyen (A+ Draft pick)
Willie Blade (Fat a**)

How many guys drafted by *any* team in 1994 are still in the league? Not a whole hell of a lot I'd bet.

Ain't that why Lacewell is gone?

not nessericly, don forget what coches did we have during that time. Just because hte players didnt go to the probowl doesnt mean that they cant play good. Pro bowl is more popualrity stats numbers, an dour coaches sucked so i doubt anybody was going anywhere. Ever since parcells has been here we ahve an increase in players going, remember we had 5 going last year and i think 4 the year before

Well at least we have identified the problem. Most times that is the hardest part.
Now we just need to fix it.
And it looks like we are headed in the right direction.
Here are names of note from the last 2 drafts......Julius, Witten, Roy Williams, Terrance Newman, Al Johnson,
And jury is still out on Bradie James, Jacob Rogers, Stephen Peterman, Patrick Crayton, Kalen Thornton

Why does tiny Dat get a A+?
You do know he is the whimpiest "Mike" in the NFL don't you?
Not only that but he was picked too high, in the 3rd when he easily would have been there in the 5th Rd....Its not like teams are rushing to draft a tiny 5-8 Lbers who lacks speed & toughness as well...
While we lack Pro Bowl picks, that can also be placed on top of coaches...
It is their JOB to DEVELOP players...

6 year starter, 372 Tackles, 6 Ints, 18 Pass Deflections.
He might be the whimpiest, but he tackles and makes plays.

It is not just poor drafting. It is poor coaching as well.
Count the number of former Cowboys who have left here and are still in the league. Quite a few are doing well elsewhere. If our drafting was so bad, most would be out of the league.

Are you sure. Not saying that you are wrong....but I cannot think of any draft picks in this timeframe that are doing well for other teams.

Ekuban did pretty well in Cleveland.
Randall Godfrey has had an okay career.
Spagnola can cherry pick any team in the NFL and do this.
We are not good at drafting, that is clear. But to sit there and imply that everyone else is so much better and we are that much worse is self-serving.
We have been hurt by bad personnell moves as well. The Galloway trade set us back five years.
