Default Upset Of The Week - Week 4

Using the 5dimes.com column on the yahoo site again this week. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/odds;_yl...km2jzLVJ1DubYF
Point spread of 3.5 or more to be considered an upset.

Can you make a list of who the underdogs are? I can't read this thing at all.

Sure can. The team that is in bold type is the underdog. The point spread is to the right of that.
New Orleans Saints at Jacksonville Jaguars -7.5
San Francisco 49ers at Philadelphia Eagles -10.0
Carolina Panthers at Chicago Bears -7.0
Pittsburgh Steelers at Houston Texans -4.0
Atlanta Falcons at Seattle Seahawks -4.0
New England Patriots at Oakland Raiders -4.0
Denver Broncos at Green Bay Packers -13.5
Miami Dolphins at San Diego Chargers -8

I'm thinking Carolina upsets the Bears. It's time for the Carolina running game to kick in, and Newton will burn the Bears' DBs.

Sounds like we need another review of the rules. The way I understand it, you've got to pick an underdog to win outright, it has to be over 3.5, and you get the number of points of the underdog you picked. In other words, I'll take the Raiders to beat the Patriots. If I'm right, I get 4 points in the season-long competition. If Venger is right, and the Broncos hand the Packers their first loss, he gets 13.5 points. Of course, if the Packers beat the Broncos, even if its by less than 13.5, Venger gets no points.

Did I get any of that wrong?

And just to reiterate, I'll take the Raiders this week.

I'm not keeping track this season since I got it started late. I'll do the points thing next year if ya'll want to keep doing this. Yes the team has to win outright we are not going against the spread. I just picked the 3.5 spread since you get situations where a home team is a one point favorite and that is pretty close to even odds and wouldn't be much of an upset.

Seahawks over Falcons.
Captain Nathan Brittles: "Only the man who commands can be blamed. It rests on me... mission failure!"

"Jerry Jones is a billionaire fan who bought his own team for the express purpose of buying his way into the game. He wants to hang out with the players, stand in front of the cameras, be the face of the team (yech), make personnel moves as if this were a video game, and more than anything else, be seen as the guy who made it all happen."
