I think we can all agree...that Howard and Saints are both
waiting for us to do someting desperate and foolish??? Otherwise lets be honest this deal is dead...I think we'd all agree.
Looks like JJ doesn't wanna pay the Sb or the Draft pick....and looks like the Saints are waiting for us to blink and giveup a better pick or a Solid MLB and Pick. And Howard is pushing for the contract of a lifetime.
As of now..I'd say this deal is 90% off the table...but Howie and the Aints are waiting for JJ to panic and pay thru the nose as he's done so much in the past.

I'm getting the feeling this deal may be dead as well.
Hard to say for sure, but I think there are too many hang-ups.

Where is the deadline that makes anyone think this deal is dead? Dallas can trade for Howard at any time. As InmanRoshi always notes, look how long the Moss/Coles trade took and it was reported dead quite a bit.
I suspect the draft is the real deadline. NO will want a pick, Howard will want to make a deal happen and Dallas always seems to like to work right at the deadline anyway. However, there is nothing to prevent it from happening after the draft and for a pick next year.
Anyway, I am sticking by my guns. Dat for Howard or a second for Howard, I would do either of those deals in a heartbeat. I would think long and hard about Dat and a 2 for Howard.
The only thing that concerns me even a little is SB.

Howards agent last night said he had not talked to Cowboys in days. For What Howard is asking he's going to be a Saint....
ACTUALLY BRILLIANT MOVE, Howard is not an AllPro player. Asks for rediculous money and gets tagged and earns $8M Guaranteed. Sanints thinking they could trade him are stuck, just like Raiders and Woodson.
At what Howard is asking I'm not sure they could give him away.
#3 next year and Al Singleton is my offer.

This slays me. A #3 next year is considered to have the same value as a #4 this year. Singleton is an average LBer. For a top 10 DE?
Why are you so against this trade?
If the signing bonus was $10 million, what would you think of it?

If the same trade and higher money was for Ty Law....look out he would be all over it.

If Howard is signed, could the mods please quickly delete my earlier response? Or better yet, alter it?

Because if it happens the 3-4 is not happening, and he'd be wrong...yet again.

And who would you sign instead? Aren't you the same guy that moaned all offseason about leaving $5 million on the table?
Have you noticed that Dallas has not done ANY restructuring that I have heard of all offseason? And yet teams like Tampa, who have been reported to be as little as $200K under the cap and still have to sign a #5 pick, still figure out ways to bring in free agents.
Oh, this would prevent Dallas from giving Law a huge bonus though.

How about this scenario?
The Cowboys swap picks with New Orleans on draft day and get Howard for the move.
