Seahawks | Terry Released - from www.KFFL.com
Fri, 18 Mar 2005 14:37:49 -0800

Seahawks.com reports the Seattle Seahawks have released ORT Chris Terry.

I know he had Cap issues and off field issues related to this release? This guy worth anything?

He had issues in Carolina which is how he ended up in Seattle. 4 game suspension in 03. But he was able to contribute right away and stabilize the right side for Seattle when he played.

Got a shoulder injury towards the end of the season. So that might have something to do with it.

Starting right offensive tackle Chris Terry, one of the NFL's best players at the position when healthy, will miss the rest of the season with a right shoulder injury that has plagued him much of the year. The six-year veteran will undergo surgery and will be placed on the injured reserve list.

I would say it depends on how bad the injury is. According to the article, he played with it for awhile, before they shut him down. He was starting ahead ahead of Pork Chop Womack, but they chose to re-sign Womack and let him go. So it's more than a salary cap move.

Anyone remember what the "off the field" problem was in Carolina? I think it was something domestic violence related.
That's why they play the game

The Seahawks claimed Terry off waivers Nov. 21, after the Carolina Panthers released him following his arrest for failing to appear in court on a misdemeanor charge of assaulting his wife.

The charge was resolved through a deferred prosecution program that required Terry, who started 10 games for the Panthers last season, to take anger management classes.

I wonder what type of injury he had? I know it was a shoulder but like rotater or bone or something else?
I can see bringing him for a look and if we did decide to sign him make it incentive laden....

Ok so I continued scrolling through the article and this is what I found.

Terry acknowledged about five weeks ago that he might not make it through the season because of structural deterioration in his shoulder. This week, unable to tolerate the pain and with his performance slipping, Terry began to seriously consider surgery.
So let's just say no....and wish him the best in his next life.

Thats actually a problem that is easily fixed with a bone graph.....It would be painful but he should be able to play at full speed I would think...It would be interesting to bring him in for a look we don't loose anything except the airfare..........

Thing is, we've already got one lineman coming off surgery and in rehab. I'd rather go with what we got. He's probably not ready to play and couldn't pass a physical.

He's 29 and has an injury history. I learned from the Darren Howard threads that we have to pass on that.

Your more than likely right I would be more concerned with his Drug problems than his shoulder though.......Seattle had like 5 or so players need shoulder surgery Trufant was one of them......
Look at this list

Coach Mike Holmgren canceled the team’s voluntary pre-draft camp in part because so many key players were recovering from surgeries.

Guard Steve Hutchinson, cornerback Marcus Trufant and defensive tackle Rashad Moore also needed shoulder operations.

Offensive lineman Jerry Wunsch (elbow), receiver Jerheme Urban (foot), defensive tackle Cedric Woodard (knee) and fullback Chris Davis (knee) also underwent surgeries.
