Rivera=Class
I like this guy already. I hope he fully recovered and help us for years to come.

MONEY-BACK GUARANTEE
My favorite story of the week, proving that it is not always about the money with athletes.
After Pro Bowl guard Marco Rivera signed a contract with the Dallas Cowboys that included a $9 million signing bonus, he hurt a disc in his back that required surgery.
Rivera was so disappointed and despondent over the injury that he actually walked into Cowboys owner Jerry Jones' office and offered to return the entire signing bonus.
Imagine that.
Jones, classy guy that he is, told Rivera no, keep it, and wouldn't take the money back.
Something tells me Rivera -- a whale of a character in his own right -- is going to earn it.

Fark! What a dumb ! Jones should have taken it back. We can always offer it to Rivera again after we KNOW he's better.
This is business not some stupid feel good fairy tale!!!
JJ's gonna look like an a** when our $9 million investment doesn't even hit the field. Fark!!!

To me it looks like Rivera and Jerry just earned some respect with each other.

My sentiments exactly.
Morning everyone.
I never stop preaching about the invaluable presence of character on a pro sports team and it's influence on winning. This just made my day.

That's what I was thinking!

Just do me a favor, Nors, and don't start calling him "Milk-o" Rivera.

Man....that's pretty classy of him. I still would have hoped in the back of my mind that they at least redid his contract dependent on if he could come back from surgery successfully and be able to play at a high level.

Was it Geraldo Rivera who found Al Capone's vault? Did a big TV think and opened it up and no cash was there?
They just found it in Marco Rivera's bank account!
