Benson is my age. We were in HS at the same time. The year we won state was one of the years he won state. I have watched him run since literally his Freshman year in HS. Every HS team feared Benson, with good reason.

He has the most important aspect of any RB - vision. He has good enough speed, he is strong enough, and good angles. I will eat crow if I am wrong, but, barring injury, Benson will be a force for many years. He may not be a flashy runner, but he averages good, he can be a workhorse, everydown back, etc. Any team that drafts him will be very, very lucky.

Dammit Benson, way to screw us!!!

I totally agree Benson will turn out to be a very good back BUT I was hoping he would be in the Top 10. Someone is going to be very lucky in the mid-to-late 1st round becuz he may now fall into that range. Damn, now my mock is getting all f@#k'd up.....

I don't think all three RBs would of been drafted in the top 10 anyway. RBs fall in the draft. Happens every year. I wouldn't be surprised if only 1 (or even none) of the top 3 RBs were drafted in the top 10.

With this draft not being as strong or as deep, I think this is the year where the RBs will re-claim its "Elite Draft Status". I think all three RBs will go in the Top 15 (hopefully Top 10).....

I doubt it. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if one of them dropped to the 20s.

I don't want to agree, but history says you are right. If it is Benson, there is one really lucky team out there.

Honestly, Brown is the one that I am not impressed by. He just doesn't do it for me.

I agree. Brown has a ton of potential, but right now he's just a big, fast guy. I still think Cadillac is the best RB in the draft. In fact, if Benson or Cadillac dropped to #20 I wouldn't mind us drafting him. Either that or we'd have some nice trade bait.

I'd be worried if Benson shrunk versus all good teams but that wasn't the case at all. He punished some very good defenses.

I agree that Benson has a limited potential but then again so did Emmitt and all he did was end up the all time leading rusher in history.

Please JT... please don't say you're compare Benson to Emmitt Smith? I've watch a lot of Benson... he ain't no "Emmitt Smith". I don't think he's even a "Julius Jones".

Did you guys see him play? The games I saw, Brown looked better to me than Cadillac. He blocks. He catches. He runs hard. He's big, fast, and although he's not as elusive as Cadillac, I've seen him make some guys miss. He can turn the corner on a sweep or run over a LB off-tackle. I don't see what's not to like.

I'm not an Auburn or even an SEC fan. Brown just looks pretty damn good to me.

Benson would be a steal in the 2nd round, but he won't last that long. If we trade down from 11 or 20 (which I think we will do) the lower 1st round pick would be a good spot to take him.

Two excellent running backs change the flavor of the offense positively. If Glenn can hold up to stretch the field a bit we could still have a dangerous offense. The negative of course is that both Benson and Julius apparently can't catch. BIG negative, actually.

I think we've all seen a lot of Benson over the years, so it's funny to read all the different opinions.

IMO, he's good, but not as good as he's been made out to be by the Longhorn legion. He looks like a late first, early second-round guy to me. I compared him to Anthony Thomas, only a little more elusive.

Inman made a great point that when you think of him, you don't remember any "signature runs." He's solid. That's probably the best way to put it.

Something else to consider with Benson is he hasn't exactly been a choir boy during his high school and college careers.

"That's the fastest-running, slowest-walking guy I've ever seen."

Another thing that hasn't been touched on here that the report showed is that he lacks good hands...

THAT will kill his being picked in the top 10 more then his speed will...
Everyone already knew he was no burner...

Frankly I am not impressed with the top backs this year ether...

I agree with JT if OU's Peterson were coming out, he would easily be the best back...

Its an average class IMHO...

We would be VERY lucky to see 3 backs taken before our pick at #11...
