I can't believe it's been that long. Say what you want, but Bill did his job here. The roster that he left us with was very good. And Jerry has completely destroyed it in 5 years, just as expected.

He may have been 33 or 34 but Dallas needed veteran leadership more than ever at that time. They also needed someone that was confident and comfortable with themself enough to tell T.O. to shutup and play or hit the bricks. Romo wasn't and still isn't that guy, I believe Dallas would have won quite a bit with him at the helm.

As far as his age, have you seen what this team picks up in FA and who they hold on to after they have looooong started their decline? What harm could he have done to this team that wasn't already happening?

I am once again in the minority on this but Dallas missed on that one along with a plethora of other pickups and drafts. More our GM but he is like god around there, if there is one constanst thing that doesn't change it is him.

They did very well, it is not a sprint though. It is a long distance goal and he built a sprinter not a marathon runner, look at them now. The same team but different results.

Gosh I do. I boldly proclaimed that Parcells would coach here for 6 years and win 2 more Super Bowls. I had that much faith in the guy.

I wonder what he could have done with the triplets if he had been the coach who came after Jimmy? I certainly don't think we'd have headed down the road to hell. But that's just me.

I don't like the way he left, and I am less than pleased with the overall results. But 9 years ago today was when I learned to hope again as a Cowboys fan.
I sure don't remember where I was or what I was doing when I heard that Parcells was coming to Dallas. I do remember where I was and what I was doing when Kennedy was shot, when we landed on the moon, and 9-11.

with the exception of LEE and the guys from this year and last year who did Wade and company get?
Who did Jerruh get before BP
Players drafted while BP was here
Ware/Witten/Ratlif/James/Newman

so the core of this team has been BP year players
So your point is as usual wrong

hardly considering it takes 22 guys to start and 56 to form a roster and you named 5, 1 of which is on his way out but if it makes you feel better......

I guess the rest just fell from the sky.

Guys like Lee, Jenkins, Smith, Murray, Jones, Dez...........

Oh, I named 6.........easy game to play

Parcells just never seemed to "fit" here. He always appeared somewhat out of his element and uncomfortable. I always got the impression he was seriously pressured by Jones every step of the way and he didnt like it.

Warner was a Free Agent in 2004 and wanted to come here. He even hinted at it on a Christian radio show. Parcells opted for Vinny. Instead Warner signed with the Giants. Then moved on the Cardinals and revamped his career.

I was so excited that I bought one of those "The Big Tuna in Big D" t-shirts.

Loved him while he was here. The best press conferences ever. Dude was hilarious.

He didn't lead us all the way, but he sure rescued us from the Campo years. Somewhere between there and here, we lost our way again.

How can you lose your way "again" if you never found it in the first place?

I personally got a little sick to my stomach when I heard the news we hired BP. I did not like him before we hired him and still do not care for him.
"Maybe next year!!" We have been saying this phrase WAYYYYY too long!!!!!!!!!!
