Default What to do with the 11th and 20th pick

As a Cowboy fan, we all wish for a super bowl and to start another dynasty.

Have we giving up on Henson, I think we should have sent him to Nfl Europe
and let him get experience. IF you look at the cowboys roster, I think we have enough weapons to score and score often, I think in Camp Parcells will not put up with stupid mental mistakes. I think you will see a big difference. What would you all think if at the 11th pick we took DJ and with the 20th we took Merrian if he is still there. Or we could possibly trade the 20th pick to the JEts for Abraham, and still take a big time prospect with the 11th pick, any thoughts on this

We as fans have no idea who we're going to take on draft day or whether we will even keep the #11 or #20 picks. There is just no telling.

I think we need more than just what we have currently on offense. I like Witten and Jones but Keyshawn and Glen are old and older and Morgan is nothing more than a 3rd stringer. The Cowboys need to trade up with Cleveland and get Braylon Edwards or Mike Williams. With the #20 i'm trading down 3-4 spots picking up a additional pick, Possibly someone may slide and that could be to our advantage.

I would like to trade the 11th pick, over all, to either SF, Clev or TB. In return, I would like a 2nd and 3rd in the 2005 draft and a 1st in the 2006 Draft.

If we traded:

SF gets 11th over all and that would give Dallas the 20th, 33rd, 42nd and 65th on the first day. Also SFs 1st in 2006.

Clev gets 11th over all. Dallas would have the 20th, 34th, 42nd and 67th on the first day, as well as Clev's 1st in 2006.

TB gets 11th over all. Dallaswould have the 20th, 36th, 42nd and 71st pick on the first day, as well as TB's 1st in 2006.

It would allow SF to take the QB (Rodgers/Smith) and an OT/WR (Edwards/Williams/Barron) of there choice.

It would allow Clev to take a QB (Rodgers or Smith, which ever SF doesn't take), LB (Johnson) or DE (Merriman) of choice.

It would allow TB to take a WR (Edwards or Williams, which ever is left) and RB (Brown, Benson or Williams, which ever).

This would allow us to target more players and have leverage again next year. I could see us looking at the following players:

20 - Marcus Spears, Shaun Cody, Travis Johnson, Thomas Davis, Carlos Rodgers, Jamal Brown, Khalif Barnes, Carlos Rogers, Mark Clayton or Troy Williams. Maybe on of the big time RBs, or LBs slips. With this pick, we could solidify either our RT position, our Defensive Line, our Secondary or our Wide Receiver Corps. Any of these players could be available there. At worst, we would have one entire unit come away solidified.

34 - Depending on who slides, we could come away with any of the players mentioned above or we could be looking at players like Pollack, Tuck, Cody, Crowder, Burnett, Blackstock, Hawthorne, Patterson, Adam Terry, David Bass, Elton Brown, Roddy White, Matt Jones, Josh Bulluck, Browner, Jackson, Williams or Shelton.

42 - Again, depending on who slides, we could come away with any of the above players or we could look at Chris Canty, James Swancutt, Demarcus Ware, Brody Pool, James Butler, Terrance Murphy, Courtney Roby, Jerome Mathis, Chris Kemoeatau, Castillo, Claude Terrell, Wes Britt, Mike Roos, Barrett Rudd, Marcus Lawrence, Arrington, Merency, Moats, Barber or maybe a QB like Walter or Fry.

67 - Ditto on the slide or we could look at a player like Brandon Jacobs, Craphonso Thorpe, Jovan Haye, Sione Pouha, Ron Fields, Sam Mays, Kerry Rhodes, Chris Henry, Vincent Jackson, Corey Webster, Antonio Perkins. Maybe Broughton or McPherson. Maybe a guy like Nugent.

In the fifth through the 7th, we could take development guys. Maybe Eckles from Navy or Houston. Maybe a guy like Larry Brackens.

More importantly, if we could obtain another 1st round pick in the 2006 draft, we could put ourselves in a position to take the player we wanted. It's likely that a trade with any one of the three teams mentioned would result in another high pick next year. That pick could represent an Adrian Peterson or Matt Lienart or Kiwanuka.

I really see no reason why we couldn't come out of this draft with a pass rushing DE, a starting FS, an OL that would solidfy the RT spot and allow Tucker to move to RG, a deep threat WR, a quality LB and a starting FB or change of pace back to go with JJ.

To me, trade down is the way to go in this draft.
