First, Cowboys get very creative, cut players like Newman, Kosier, McBrair, Spencer, Bennett, Beuhler, Coleman, Costa, Bradie James, Brooking and a few other players. At same time restructure Romo's and Ware's contract to create more money to sign top free agents, players that play with heart, intensity, desire and want to win, as well as leaders on their previous team. Resign: Laurent Robinson | WR Had Romo's trust more then any other WR. Dallas will have to pay. Jerry Jones convinces Robinson to stick with cowboys, and he will get paid. We keep youngsters like Fiametta, who opens holes in running game and kept Romo upright in passing game, Geathers who is a monster at DE and can play NT, and Parnell who Jerry Jones was totally high on. Signed: Carl Nicks OG from Saints, due to Bree's huge contract, Saints dont have money to keep Nicks and with Bill Callihan knowing Nicks, Cowboys go get OG to protect Romo. Mario Williams DE/OLB, with the Texans tight on cap money, and Jerry realizing he needs top pass rushers, Jerry restructures Ware's and Romo's contract to go get Mario to be a force for the Cowboys. D'Qwell Jackson | ILB | Cleveland (28) He won't be cheap but Jerry says he will spend his money and Jackson is one of the most under rated ILB's in the game. Rob has expressed how much he admires his play and with two staff members from the Browns who Jackson has stated he has admiration for perhaps it's a reunion in the making. Also give Bruce Carter another year to get his feet under him. Center Chris Myers from Houston, just 30 years old, will hold the fort down till draftee Mike Webster is ready to take over in 2-3 years. Mike Adams of Cleveland-Safety, very underated safety, knows rob ryan's system and our new defensive backs coach, makes plays and interceptions. Cornerback Carlos Rogers, very underated cb, but showed his skill level when taught right by good coaching. Will cost some, but will help our secondary, till youngsters are ready through the draft. We move Doug Free to ROT and Tyron to LOT and move Ratliff to DE some. 1. Sitting at number 14th in the draft, the cowboys are mulling over available prospects still avallable in the 1st round. Players like Dre Kirkpatrick, DeCastro OG, Ingram OLB/DE, and DE Michael Brockers. Taking a page from the NY Giants Cowboys realize that you have to have a pass rush to win SuperBowls. The Cowboys get a call from Chargers to trade down wth them while getting a 3rd round choice, plus a 7th. The Cowboys take Michael Brockers DE from LSU, a copy cat clone to Leon Lett and Richard Seymour. Michael Brockers, DT, LSU  Brockers just completed his sophomore year at LSU, but he can (and did) leave early because he redshirted prior to his first year in Baton Rouge. The defensive tackle played sparingly in 2010, making an appearance in 13 games with one start. Brockers stepped into a major role in 2011 and helped lead the Tigers to the SEC Championship (he was one of the defensive stars in the blowout of Georgia) and a berth in the BCS National Championship. He started all 14 games, made 54 tackles, and finished third on the team with 10 tackles for loss. Brockers also recorded two sacks, four quarterback hurries, an interception, a forced fumble, and a blocked kick. The Houston, TX native has great size at 6'6'' and 306 pounds. He generally runs in the 4.9s of the 40-yard dash and he has been clocked as fast as 4.86 from that distance. Brockers is extremely agile for his size, and his side-to-side movement makes him a real force as a run defender. His pass-rushing skills can be improved by working on his first step off the ball and by adding some more bulk to his frame (and he definitely has room to do so). Brockers does not have a ton of experience, so he will likely be used as a situational defensive tackle for at least a season or two. At the same time, his future upside is huge so he should be a first or second-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. In high school, Brockers looked like more of a small forward, as he stood 6-foot-6 and weighed in at just 255 pounds. He was well regarded by scouting services, but not seen to be elite. Ranked among the top ten defensive ends in the nation, Brockers left his home state of Texas to join Les Miles and the Tigers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=DQp5lx-hdCM Defensive tackles tend to be shorter and stockier, but with the type of athletes that are moving to the middle of the line, it is hard to pass them up. The Giants have shown the entire league this year that elite defensive linemen should be able to move along the line with ease and attack all parts of the offensive line. Brockers can play both the end and the tackle position, which makes him that much more valuable. This versatility is also inviting scouts to cast him a number of different roles, helping to build his pre-draft buzz. @WesBunting: Think #LSU DT Michael Brockers has a lot of upside inside, but real value could be as a play making 5-tech...more upside than JJ Watt IMO Standing 6-foot-6 is a rarity amongst linemen, but as Julius Peppers (6'7"), Calais Campbell (6'8") and Jason Pierre-Paul (6'5") have taught us, athletic freaks are often best suited to chase down the quarterback. Brockers just turned 21, so he has plenty of time to develop. He will likely put fellow defensive tackles Devon Still and Brandon Thompson to shame at the combine in terms of measurables, so expect a few teams to start drooling at the prospect of him anchoring their line for the next decade. But Still is a more seasoned college player and has a known track record. It will come down to a team that is willing to take a risk with a high pick and hope that he pans out. 2nd Rd Pick:Cowboys get another call at draft time, with OG's Brandon Washington and Cordy Glenn still available, Cowboys trade down a few spots, get a 3rd rounder and 6th. The left tackle anchored an offensive line that ranked third in the SEC in total offense this year, averaging 413.85 yards per game. Glenn currently ranks second all-time in school history in starts for an offensive lineman with 49. His next start against Michigan State will tie him with former Senior Bowler Clint Boling for the school mark for offensive linemen. The 2012 Senior Bowl will be a homecoming of sorts for Jones. The Centreville, Alabama native landed on both the AP and Coaches All-SEC second teams in 2011. He was also a finalist for the Rimington Trophy, given annually to the best center in the nation and was named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week twice this season. Flashes good anticipation and is willing to release passes before the receiver has made his break. Good zip and ball placement on the quick slant. Good touch down the seam and on post-corner, flag routes to attack the defense vertically and horizontally. Good accuracy and zip on crossing routes over the middle. Not often asked to roll out and throw on the move in this offense but demonstrates the ability to do so, especially when rolling to his right. Arm Strength: Possesses a strong right arm and is capable of making every NFL throw easily. Can drive the deep out to the sideline from the opposite hash and has no problem threading the needle between closing defenders. Easily zips to all areas of the field, demonstrating very good touch on underneath routes to running backs and receivers, as well as down the sideline on deep passes. Setup/Release: Efficient set up and a quick release. Typically releases passes with a 3/4 delivery that almost shot-puts the ball and doesn't take advantage of his natural height advantage. Can drop down even lower with his delivery to complete passes around defenders. Also has a tendency to throw off his back foot when being pressured, leading to some passes drifting high and/or wide. Reading Defenses: Excellent height to see over the defense. Wasn't asked to make many pre-snap reads in this offense. Too often stares down his primary target. Demonstrated improved ability to manipulate the defense with his eyes in 2011 though he remains under-developed in this area and does telegraph his throws. On The Move: Surprisingly athletic considering his size. Committed to Gonzaga on a basketball scholarship as a sophomore in high school and only agreed to switch to Arizona State a year later when the Sun Devils agreed to let him play both sports. He briefly considered joining the ASU basketball team in 2010 but never played for the Sun Devils … Good balance and overall manueverability despite his height and can throw accurately on the move. Though significantly more athletic than his height would indicate, has only average straight-line speed and is easily caught from behind. Intangibles: Has only 15 career starts and played in just 25 games, overall. Took the vast majority of snaps out of the shotgun in 2011 and will need to make the adjustment to dropping back from center -- not a unsubstantial requirement considering Osweiler's height. Courageous in the pocket. Willing to take the hit to complete the pass. Has been known as a hard worker throughout his career. Draft Scout Akiem Hicks News 01/23/12 - TOP TEN PROSPECTS WHO HELPED THEMSELVES AT THE EAST-WEST SHRINE: DT Akiem Hicks, Regina: At 6-feet-4 and 324 pounds with an 84" wingspan, Hicks made an enormous impression on scouts this week. He is unpolished and needs a lot of technique work, but he flashed his raw potential with good quickness and overall range. Hicks is a bit stiff and plays upright, but scouts aren't interested in the prospect he is now, but rather the player he could be down the road after a year or two with NFL coaching -- will be a late-round developmental defender. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com 01/21/12 - EAST-WEST SHRINE WEDNESDAY: Offensive and defensive linemen began to stand out Wednesday at the East-West Shrine Game practice, where one of the biggest stories was from the far north -- Canada. Eh? Well-traveled defensive lineman Akiem Hicks was impressive for a second successive day. Hicks played high school and junior college football in Sacramento, Calif., area. But after being at the center of a LSU recruiting controversy in 2010, he wound up playing for the University of Regina in Canada the past two seasons. Hicks (6-5, 324 pounds) is one of the largest players on the field, but the most surprising aspect of his game is his impressive movement, showing nimble feet and fast hands. He definitely has some work to do before he is NFL-ready, but he has raw ability. Hicks isn't a natural bender and has very ordinary initial explosion out of his stance. But he does have an 84-inch wingspan and used those long limbs to dominate blockers and prove to pro teams he should be drafted in April. Some good picks there Joe but signing Mario Williams puts you in positon to not force a pass rusher at 14. Take BPA if its DeCastro or Brockers so be it. Follow the board.

Granted your taking a gamble alittle on Brockers, but he has flashed potenttial at DE while at college some. So, thats what im basing my thinking on. Keep this in mind too, Jason Garrett did say that they were thinking about the 4-3 defense, which in reality would help spears. Your top defensive linemen then could be Mario Williams or Campbell from Arizona, Spears which is more suited to 4-3 defense, Ratliff, and Ware, adding in Brockers. Adding to that Lisemore, and Geathers could rotate in to spell DL with Akiem Hicks, I like the big NT that Hos had us taking in his mock draft, but main thing to keep in mind about him, he is old too about 26 or so, not sure if some of you knew that or not. Then, using the 3-4, you have at DL Brockers, Spears, Hatcher, Ratliff, Brent, Lisemore, Geathers, and at outside linebacker you have Mario Williams, Ware rushing from outside, which i think could be a bad set of outside linebackers for opposing offenses.

sorry but Brewster sucks, he had a terrible senior bowl and is now considered a 4th-5th round pick.
I'v heard Dallas really likes Ben Jones, Phillip Blake, and Quinton Saulsberry. Also Dallas restrucutured Rmo and Ware last year so there is no way they can restructure them both again this year. |

Michael Brockers does not impress one bit. I watched every game of LSU this year and he never stood out to me. I think he is a true 4-3 DT. He willhave a good combine and show his strength and go in the top 12.
