LSU CB Morris Claiborne: "I set my goal at a 4.2, 4.3"
Heard on ESPN NFL32 during an interview about the combine with Morris Claiborne.
He hopes to run a 4.2-4.3 40-yard dash.

Thats Deon speed ... doubt he gets to a 4.2.
Oh ... is there a list somewhere of the fastest 40s ever recorded at the combine?
Thanks

Cowboys need to hire Jeff Gillooly and have him do a Kerrigan on Claiborne.

i would love for Claiborne to do something stupid so his stock falls to the middle of the 1st round.....I love me some DeCastro, but if Claiborne was there at 14, I would jump on him like a fatman jumps on a cheeseburger.

ME TOO.
He's better made for the NFL than Patrick Peterson.

What a stupid statement from him.
He needs to understand the concept of managing expectations. There is absolutely no upside to this but a very obvious downside.
If he runs a 4.2, teams will be amazed by his speed and want him badly. But that would be true even if he ran the 4.2 without saying so beforehand. So saying it beforehand gets him nothing.
If he doesn't run in that range, then teams will either think he is a full of it, not credible, and was trying to mislead them when he said it. Or, the teams might think he was honest in expecting to run that, but is either too dumb to realize he isn't that fast or he cracked under pressure. Regardless, failing to meet that goal now will be a bad thing for him.
So making that statement seems to have no upside to him.
He should answer such questions "We'll see how I do. I feel lucky that I was blessed with good speed, and I hope I'll be able to show my best out there."

Oh he's absolutely going to the Bucs. They're about to lose Talib to jail and Barber to retirement.

I disagree completely. I think it shows that even though he is easily, hands-down the number one corner prospect he still wants to go out and prove he is elite. I like it.
