Josh (Washington, DC)

Generally speaking, few OGs are taken in the first round. Assuming a need at guard, how early would you take David DeCastro?

Mel Kiper (1:30 PM)

I think he could go anywhere between 12 to KC to 14 to Dallas to 17 to Cincinnati. He's certainly in that range. Steve Hutchinson has had a great career as a pure guard out of Michigan.

Sal (Dallas)

With the 14th pick who do you see the Cowboys picking?

Mel Kiper (1:43 PM)

They have to get a DB. They had too many guys running wide open in that secondary. They have to get a CB or safety. They could look Mark Barron, Dre Kirkpatrick. They could trade up to get Morris Claiborne. If they want to trade off of 14, they could look at Janoris Jenkins.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

Assuming he checks out OK with the team, I would be ecstatic to be able to trade back a few spots and pick up a premier talent like Janoris Jenkins.

Yeah, seriously. Tells you how weak this year's safety crop is.

You don't have to believe the guy will be drafted in the first round to have him in your top 32 or even top 25. You can believe the player's value is that high but will probably slide into the 2nd round.

But in Smith's case, Mel mentioned in that chat that he's had him in his first round for a few weeks now.

Mayock and Deion both thought he looked great in the DB drills. I believe Mayock said he could see him being a very high 2 or late 1 now.
