Default DraftHistory.com

Found this interesting draft site : DraftHistory.com.

Can look draft history by team.

While Brandt was good at finding some hidden gems, it is amazing how many misses the Boys had over the years. Of course, you can do that when you have 20 picks.

I think it's interesting to go back to the Jimmy years, and look at some of those drafts. Sure, we hit on a number of picks, but most of them (Lett and Brown being noteable exceptions) were in the first 3 rounds, where we had multiple picks. Past that, there were a lot of major busts. Of course, Jimmy was always the first to admit that the main reason for their success was simply the fact that they had so many picks.
There's always more to the story.

It's like hitting a baseball. Even the best miss more than they hit.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

Exactly..a hitter can fail 7 out of 10 at bats and still be considered one of the best since they would be hitting .300

That was one of the strengths of Jimmy Johnson. He was smart enough to know he would fail a lot at picking players. So he stockpiled selections to give himself more at bats.

Something to keep in mind when we're on the clock at 14. A trade down might not be a bad idea.
